yes i would for sure.... ooh the longing for it. so excited,........
I don’t know if it’s practical, reasonable. do able or wantable but
Franco I believe open up Pontins (Camber) on Thursday night, I don’t know how many people turned up on the Thursday
Would people pay extra for say Thurs to tues long weekender at Southport in the summer? Or maybe just Thurs to Monday
For me it would have more appeal then a kids party on the IOW
ie £109 for standard weekend and £155 for extension to tues or £140 to monday ?

I did the Thursday before the weekend at Camber, and it was good to ease yourself into the weekend...
Don't think I could do much more than that though. By Monday morning my legs are useless, and there's no point hanging around a holiday camp if you can't dance.

Hmmm, I could sleep or two for a day before having to travel back. A good idea but how much?
I would pay for early check in on Friday and late check out on Monday - but wouldn't be able to afford the time off for extra days
I think UPs method of driving part way on the Thurs night and finding somewhere to dance on the way, staying in a B&B etc, was a good solution if you have a long drive and are able to leave on Thurs early evening.
I don't know about arriving at the venue on the Thurs though, I think its long enough Fri - Sun nights and Fri afternoon is early enough to arrive, get settled in and go out dancing.
altho i am not going to sp i think all weekenders should offer a later check out for an extra few quid.
I'd happily pay an extra £15-20 to be able to check out at 3 or 4pm so that i could get a decent sleep before having to travel home.
Finish dancing at 9am. (More or less, have a couple more dances while breakfast being cooked.) Eat breakfast. Back to chalet for 10am, shower, change, pack. Leave site at 11am.
Well that worked for me at the last SP!
But yeah, you do expect the dancing to end about 7am, an hour or two of sleep can be useful.
Here is what I do (again havent a clue if its feasable)
Open gates 6pm Thursday
Dance 'blues room' only with finish time cira 2am (longer if required)
End on Monday but check out cira 5pm if required
price say £129 instead of £109
No additional classes etc just more time to warm up and warm down.
What would people think to having the 'June' Southport on the last bank holiday in May?
I don't know how feasible it would be in terms of the holiday camp's bookings and so on, and maybe it would be a bit more expensive, but maybe then the weekend could go from Friday to Tuesday (or is that just being greedy ).
Bearing in mind that is usually the start of half term, it probably wouldn't be possible as
a) Pontins would lose a small fortune on bookings for the rest of that week (since families would probably want to book the whole week from Saturday to Saturday, so Pontins would be empty from when we all left on the Tuesday)
b) those dancers who have children probably wouldn't be able to come due to family holiday commitments
However the idea of having a dance weekender over a bank holiday - maybe the early May one - is a good one.
