    The Jam House, Edinburgh

Now that Tuesday night's Ceroc class is held in the Jam House in Edinburgh, has anyone been along to one of the normal Jam House club nights on a Friday or Saturday?

I've heard that groups of Cerocers often go along and take over the floor. I'm thinking of going along next Friday and wondered if anyone fancied it? Here's what the website says...

    Friday 23/05/2008 The JAM HOUSE EXPERIENCE: 18:00 - 03:00

Live Music, Good Food and a Great Time is on offer every weekend at the Jam House, with tremendous range of classic sounds from our own award-winning Jam House musicians. "The Flavours" rock, pop & boogie on both Friday & Saturday and are always supported by a range of exciting and talented special guest artists.

    Admission:Free Before 8pm, £5 before 11pm £7 after
Dress code:Smart casual, no ripped jeans or trainers

Went a few weeks back with a couple of other dancers. Did a little bit of ceroc but not much, ended up dancing round a handbag for most of the night as the floor gets very busy later and not really the room for partner dancing.

The Flavours were very good and played a great mix of stuff, was great to have a live band to listen and dance to.

    Definitely recommend it

I've done about 8 Saturday nights.
Since they doubled the dance area, we Cerocers can partner dance most of the night. But we do have to be especially considerate during the busiest spell around midnight. Definitely worth trying and you'll probably come back for more.

    Which Friday/Saturday are you planning?

Concur with what has been said previously.
    Flavours are great!!
You may want to try a Thursday night when there is more space to dance!

I've been a few fridays and Saturdays - tend to go earlier - so there is more space. The floor is generally good.

personally tend to find that once Flavours comes on, the floor generally gets a bit too crowded for my taste (especially with people who have had a drink or 4 and are harder to predict)

    but well worth going to!

I've mentioned your post/visit to a few non Forumites.
I'm going to Inverness, so you'll have less competition pulling

Thanks, Dep. I must confess, I am slightly tempted to drive up to Inverness for the evening / weekend. I think I may be getting just a little bit addicted to this dancing stuff!!

    See you tomorrow night

I do, I do, I do!!! ...but it's such a long way and I really have need to devote some time to my two girls this weekend, so I'm afraid it has to be a 'No' from me

Still doing the Jam House on Friday, though

Are there many people planning on doing the Jam House this Fri? If there are, I might try to get along (but will depend ultimately on what time I make it back to Edinburgh).

I'm in Inverness with Tiggerbabe and others.
No one else wants to admit they might meet me up there.

Sorry, didn't make it back to Edin till after 9 - absolutely exhausted, so not going to crawl out and come dancing.

Let me know when there is going to be another non-Tues expedition to the Jam House and I'll try and make it.

I'm not around next weekend, but I think we should arrange one for the following weekend... 6th of June?

There were about 7 of us there last night and the place wa fairly quiet, so there was plenty of space to dance. We had a great night

yer your right DD, I'll save my energy for Kirrie

Seriously though the reason I'm dithering is I'm working 50+ hours a week just now and the ole energy levels are slipping away rather quickly!

THanks for saying I'm a nice dancer though

Have you never heard of Red Bull and Pro Plus!? I can't believe you're letting work get in the way of dancing. It sounds like you need to sort out your priorities, young lady!
