    Southport THE BBQ

    Hi Folks

Well not long now, so I thought it time to start this

BIG BIG THANKS to John & Wes for supplying a Gas BBQ to us, so no need to add those awful disposable thingys

I have added a selection of needs - if I have forgotten anything, hopefully some kind moderator will add them

The Barbie is held on the green with the rocks in the mddle behind the childrens' play area which is opposite the reception area

Hopefully (weather permitting) will be late after noon on Saturday - I will try and remember to put something on my window (which will have Minnie Mouse on it) chalet/appt number is 83 (I am sharing with Jane Story and James Hashmi) - the great new gift from Jive Addiction will be either outside my chalet or by the rocks

No frozen stuff please, takes ages to defrost and we don't have a freezer to store.

Please don't bring any food to our chalet the day before or even the morning (we might be sleeping), we wont have the room to store it

If you want to bring your own plates or forks etc (from your chalet) please remember to take back with you.

Any willing helpers will be very welcome, especially for the clearing up.

phwooooooooooo - sorry for the above, but attendance to our wonderful barbie gets bigger every year

ENTERTAINMENT - Southport has talent !!!

We have the amazingly talented Mr & Mrs Captain Fantastic (hope they will be entertaining us again this year) - but is there any others out there who have any hidded talents (other than dancing) ????? Please share

Any comments or additions to above - please share

    Big big hugs to all

    Minnie Mouse
    aka Lynda

    See ya there

PS: One final note - it is more important that you make it to the barbie, so if bringing last minute friends who will not being able to contribute - not worry !

PPS: If you are not able to come till later (usually finishes about 8 to 9'ish) - don't worry, we still want you there

    Re: Southport THE BBQ

I've put that I'll bring chicken (and booze) but what meat I bring exactly will depend on what they have in Tesco or Morrisons in Southport at the time

I have picnic rugs and chairs too

    Re: Southport THE BBQ

Hope to bring some colourful nibbles, nuts etc and some drink. Possibly cherries too if available, maybe fish/ vegetable kebabs if I'm organised enough. I ought to make cakes considering my partner loves them but I'm not very good at cooking, I'm better at assemblage !!.

    There's no non-alcoholic drink option.

I was thinking of fruit juice?

    Re: Southport THE BBQ

I'll be bringing some veggie stuff and wine for sure, possibly some fish, but depending on how organised I am I'll probably bring other stuff too.

I might bring some disposable tray barbecues too for us veggies - we don't really need our veggie burgers spattered with meat fat

So looking forward to this - never seem to have more than a chance to say hello to people at dance events, never to actually chat properly and get to know people.

And if I forget to say it at the time Minnie - thanks for organising this

    Re: Southport THE BBQ

What I bring rather depends what I have in the fridge/freezer immediately before we leave! Cake - of course - and probably sausage/burger/kebab type things, maybe some pitta bread, probably a potato or pasta salad. I have some paper plates - not enough for everyone, but a start.

Any special requests for summery puddings?

    Re: Southport THE BBQ

I'll bring myself , some soft drinks (on account of me being a lightweight that doesn't drink) and my secret sweet weapon. Didn't know if I should have classified it as Cakes or Desserts

If there's anything I think of nearer the time I'll bring that as well. Look forward to seeing you all there.

Unfortunately JA were not able to get a Gas BBQ - so will need Charcoal etc

I have never used a real BBQ so have no idea what is needed to light it and keep it burning - could someone please help.

I think we may have used all the options (25 max) on the list

Sorry I should explain more ............ it was more a problem with space, a gas BBQ is not only larger but there is the gas bottle to think of too, and they are limited in space. The unit they have very kindly donated to the Forum Barbie is of the 'flat pack' variety.

By the way, I will need to clean it after - any ideas what you clean them with ?
