Aren't you getting them confused with the old 'UK Jive Open' comps?**
**I know I know ... SO last century....
Say it ain't so!!
I've heard this from too many seperate sources now for me to completely ignore the possiblity... have they all come from peeved ex-competitors who "should have" won?? From ex ceroc staff?? From people in the know?? From judges who have holidayed in Barbados sometime in June after a the Champs one year??
...anyone got any thoughts?!?
I'm not interested in reasoned debate here... I have my brown envelope ready, and was curious as to how much I should put in it...

Funny that...
They are fixed?
I never realised they were broken.

Isn't the speculation about fixing, all part of the 'fun' of competitions?
Personally, I think its great to have that element of doubt... I mean, what else do the losers have to cling to?

A Dancing Competition fixed? Who ever heard of such a thing?
Arrest made in alleged dancing fix
First I have heard of it also
HOLD ON........
I didnt say it was'nt fixed, i just said that i had heard nothing to say it was.
Saying that, i have now spoken to two X Ceroc teachers (obviously nameless) who have said it's NOT fixed, but there is a bias towards Ceroc venue'ees (is that a word ?) and a direction away from other organisations.
Out of interest and this is a genuine question. How many none Ceroc teacher/taxi's/venue managers/devout Cerocer's/anti any other MJ'ers have won any of the Ceroc heats in the last 9 years? Remember........ Genuine question.
No, but that could have been coz we were rubbish
On the other side of the coin... I did have an "absolutely not fixed" experience in Australia:
There were 10 teams and the competition for teams that year was of a high standard.
We were told when we put our entry in, that we could not do it with all 5 couples, as one couple was in direct competition in one of the Ceroc areas and had had a falling out with the comp organiser. So we were told to only use 4 couples or we could not enter.
After lengthy discussions, we were allowed to compete with all 5 couples...
to the organiser
Due to the complete fairness of the judging, and the total "non-involvement" in the outcome by the comp organiser, everyone had an equal chance and we did in fact win (even though it was not the result the comp organiser would have prefered).
I see this as a clear indication of this particular comp not being "fixed".
As there is no gambling/betting involved, there is no monetary incentive to "fix" a dancing contest.
Unlike football, boxing, cricket, Pop Idol, greyhounds, horse racing, Formula One etc.,
