'The Bongo Man' is a great song, by Jimmy Cliff, but far too sexy for the dancefloor.

Sheena played "Children" on Saturday. Still not up there with "Sandstorm" but still a GREAT tune!! (and less overplayed, also).

I'm not sure that anything can make up for that last song!!

Such a shame. It had been a great night until then!

The last song was one of the best of the night – only surpassed by "Sharp Dressed Man".

What was the last song anyway?

TBS got played on Tuesday at Nantwich and it was the fullest I ever saw the dancefloor all night. Yes, everyone really hates it, don't they?

Try it and then let us know.
When someone hears the Bongo Song for the 1st time, perhaps they love it or not

    Re: The Bongo Song

Finally, thanks to this thread I now know what the song is. I love it. The DJ at my regular venue won't tell anyone what it is. Is that usual DJ behaviour? (I'm fairly new to ceroc).

He probably doesn't want requests for it.

Had a brilliant dance to this last night at JJ's with Claire S.

Definitely high on my request list at the moment, just beside 4 Minutes by Madonna.

Err - IMHO music/musicality need not lyrics. Again, IMHO, these tracks with no lyrics are what it's all about, the music/tune and not the song

One can get kicked, elbowed and bumped on the dance floor regardless of the tune (blimey ... you really do have something against this tune)

It is NOT a novelty (even) song! P.L.E.A.S.E. do not class it in the same category as mr Blobby & Crazy Frog. You just don't get it, that's all.

Yeah, you don't get it.... The drum beats is what it's all about.

I've not read any of the posts to your thread, however, I'm sure you are not the only one reduced to tears. And it is not a song .... It's one heck of a "T"

There's just different music for different folk of different strokes.

I must say I love the Bongo song, you get the right partner, ie someone who can dance fast, and it is great fun, with your follower moving across the floor with cat like swiftness, it is a joy to behold.

Personally I love it and try to get an appropriate follower for it. Does not have to be a woman, I would like to follow on this one.

You are on my son at Southport we will go into the main room and give it our best shot. You are one of the few men that I would be comfortable dancing this with as a follower.
