Absolutely - If you dance at a Rock n Roll event like the one at the BAWA in Bristol every Sunday, Candyman will feel slow. Interestingly the "older than me" dancers don't struggle with this at all, whereas the "younger than me" Leroc dancers who turn up from time to time struggle.

Mind you this tends to be where I run out of puff (I danced to this recently using triple steps all the way through and felt like I needed the oxygen cylinder at the end)

Oh - well - if we're competing.... Jimmie Lunceford -

(but I admit we're getting a little far away from MJ by now...)

Candyman, with the right partner and in the right circumstances, can be very sexy.

I don't think I've ever danced to any version of St James Infirmary, but if you ignore the lyrics, then again, with the right partner, etc., I'm sure it can make for a sexy dance.

So, depending on the moment, my answer is either both or neither.

Ah, hang on... The question was which would make a sexy dance, it was 'which is better for dancing "sexy"?'

OK, that simple – slower songs are better for dancing sexy. Therefore, no matter what the lyrics, the slower one wins. Or is there a counter-example?
