Oh I say my middle name is poise and style.

As i was fourteen and a half stone in the clip and maybe had a shandy or two , grace and elegance was not a bedfellow of mine.

Jamie on the other hand is an amazing dancer and made of rubber. The offer of a pint still stands djtrev, I of course will be drinking Babycham.

I loved this! however, I am confused are you and Woodface the same person ? i have only just realised this!

Anyway - you are so slidy. Did you do it in socks? What i quite like about men on men is that it seems to be a more even kind of dance with the "follower" more liable to take control (hijack?). These dances also always look fun perhaps because of this. It would take a very confident woman to do this to a man. Are men also better at taking their own weight in a drop? Finally, I noticed that you seem to spend quite a lot of time with your weight on your heels (looks a bit WCS) is that true? I like the look of it too. Well done to Gav as well. Makes me wonder why you all bother with the women!!

I dread to think what it's like where you dance then . Having a laugh with a bloke is 1 thing, but I can think of plenty of ladies I'd rather dance with (sorry Lee, you just don't do it for me ).

Re: Men having men - is it frowned upon?

    so in summary
    1. of course any one can dance with any one - if it were not so it would be discrimination

    2. any one can ask any one to dance but shouldnt be offended if turned down on the basis of gender.

but what about in class? when people are compelled to dance with who ever is next in line.
Ive been to lots of classes where women dance as lead (the teacher managed to call them ''ladyboys' the other week before correcting herself to 'leading ladies') but only one where men danced follow and that was halloween fancy dress night. Is this not acceptable? or does anyone attend classes where men regularly follow? or Should it be acceptable?

it seems to be acceptable for Ladies to Lead. This particularly applies when there is a shortage of Men for the class.
From other threads the consensus is that Men following may put off other Men and could end up with even fewer Men turning up for classes.

Is this a case of Ceroc using Ladies and Men, when using the idea of calling us Leaders and Followers would in part solve the gender problem?

Oh I say, OH I SAY, went to Berko last night and the wonderful Jive Lad lead me in his marvellous style and elegance many thanks to you my lover.

OH I SAY I had one refusal all night and it was the lovely Miguel who, according to Trouble, said "Fcuk off you batty boy." methinks he is still unsure at this stage of his position on men dancing with men,. Bless him. I know he loves me really.

I actually had ladies coming up to me and asking me if they could lead me, I am telling you it was saucier than a pie in a ketchup factory.

Stunning night by the way....MODS where the hell is the "About last night." thread gone.

Where the hell is Jamesy when his adoring public need him?

And where the hell is my primary carer at? I need a poo.

couldn't agree more Lee, I too thought the same when I started dancing, and it was at my first Camber that I saw how much expressive and fun some of the male/male dancing can be, and learning how to follow is such fun (and improves your lead no end - especially in tango!!) unfortunately I'm still a beginner as far as following goes, but hoping to improve on that...

Hope people get over their hang ups - its dance FGS! and if anyone has an alternate agenda well that's the same for either sexual persuasions, if you feel uncomfortable dancing with someone whos making unwanted advances (of either gender) fair enough - say no. but don't do that just because they're the same sex - that. IMHO says something about one's own insecurities!
