Don't have access to her diary but you may be able to pass on your best on Tuesday.

I'm looking forward to having a "good night" in a few weeks time at the Edinburgh Ski Clubs spring ball.

For £40 we'll have a glass of bubble on arrival, luxury buffet dinner with a few glasses of wine included.
Then with a live band we will be dancing away to a number of ceilidh and Ceroc dances till around about midnight.

I guess expense is all what you are used to and the value you attach to the product you are receiving.
I was surprised at the cost just to be a spectator at the Scottish Championships last year as you had to pay for a full ticket at £25 if you wanted to attend. That certainly put me off.

When is the august one? I like the sound of this event and as my birthday is in august i can justify a special trip across.

Also i would like to know as i dont have my august freestyle venue booked and would prefer not to clash....for completely selfish reasons!

OOOhhhh! Am already very excited about this as it's my birthday too! What a wonderful way to celebrate it

I thought Saturday's party was great - the music was fab but the night went far too quickly ('cause of the great music) and I didn't get to dance with everyone I wanted to .
I agree with Ducasi about the floor - needs a bit of a clean - my shoes kept getting stuff on them which was really annoying
    Thanks for a great night
Which LBD will make it to the August party?......I wonder

    I'm suffering withdrawal symptoms.
    I didn't get a dance.
    I'll try harder next time.

No, the Scottish comp is in September, however the Brunton Halls still do not have a start date for their refurbishment and cannot confirm a date for the Comp as yet.

    Re: Edinburgh Corn Exchange Party

Well I had a fab time Sat night.
Loved the new venue and was well worth the trip down.
Great music, great dances (thanks everyone ) and the time really did go way too fast.

And yes, the floor could do with a good clean. I was in sandals and my feet were filthy by the time it was over.

It would be nice to have the Corn Exchange venue to look forward to each month but as I can’t get to the next two E’burg parties I won’t be afraid of missing it!

    Roll on August!

    Re: Edinburgh Corn Exchange Party

I just wanted to say I had a great time on Saturday. My only real complaint was that it ended too soon!

I was a little concerned at first to notice that the price went up fifty per cent - yes I know only four pounds. But getting there, I think it was obvious that it was at least worth the extra cost over Marcos. So I'm very glad I didn't let that put me off.

Did anyone else think the bar staff seemed rather amused by the dancing? Oh, and I loved that they put jugs of iced water out, very much appreciated.

I had a fantastic night. Great venue, and some lovely, lovely dances.

Next time this venue will be on, I'll be there!!

    Re: Edinburgh Corn Exchange Party

Really good night, but like everyone else, time seemed to go ridiculously quickly - I didn't get to dance with everyone I'd like. Had some great dances in the blues room though: it's always nice to have your face stroked by someone you don't know... and lovely to see some of my favourite dancers as well.

The corn exchange is a really lovely venue and the floor seemed fine in my super slippy new shoes. The layout works really well, with the tables away to the sides creating a decent shaped dancefloor. Even better: for once the red wine was drinkable.

As for price, given the cost of coming down from Inverness and staying overnight, it's not of much concern, and good value for a decent venue. I seem to remember in my dim and distant past paying that much to go clubbing.

Unfortunately, my dancing seems to have reached a plateau, or I'm getting bored with my repertoire - hopefully Blaze III will give me some new inspiration.

looking forward to seeing you all soon

    Re: Edinburgh Corn Exchange Party

Edinburger corn exchange was FAB! cost was fine - as BIB says - when you're already travelling from Nessy - £4 extra isn't a problem - problem for me was not being allowed to book my megabus home online nad having to pay £10 extra :-(

I had really great dances and sadly had to sit the last few out as I ran out of energy :-( :-( :-(

Great venue - well done to everybody involved in organising/running etc. Thank you all for the super dances - not one bad dance all night - yay!

BIB - certainly no compalints for your dancing on Sat.

One minor complaint about the upcoming tea dance - the time its on at - us Nessies probably won't make it :-(

Nessie Monster - LUCKY you - I might manage the workshop but sadly its way too late for me on a Sunday to get back after the tea dance, then go to work on Monday! Its my last Monday in this job too :-( As it stands at the mo - the following Monday I'll be jobless!

Dep - I did indeed miss my dance with you :-( I'll claim it next time!
