    A job for an Englishman/woman

Let us start on the premis that I have no love for football whatsoever, however I am mystified why there is a foreign English football team manager.

Are there no English men who can do this job.

If not English at least British, surely there must be qualified people who are not foreigners who can do this job.

I can just imagine a Scotsman running the England Team. I'd think fans would prefer someone outside the British Isles if that was the case...

    Erickson was Swedish.

No one was too bothered. Didn't do us any good though did he.

The real problem is that these managers put too many players at the back - it's all defensive football these days. Zzzz

Was that not why the English team had their numbers on the front of their jersey for a while... fool them into moving forward with the ball, not backwards??

I'll get me coat, shall I...

Well, they definately need to move forward.
Especially with the off side rule.
It's almost impossible for them to score with sometimes as many as 5 at the back- and I'm talking starting positions.

I'm English - perhaps I should put my name down.

but I'd need to keep well away from their hotel rooms.

Im fairly sure that, despite the title of this thread, your average England fan would prefer a Scottish male manager than an English Female one. Wimmin Managers ?!?!?...eh...eh...eh

Good luck getting a Scot to take the job though

Where does the Welsh rugby coach Warren Gatland come from? Are there no Welshmen (or women) who can do the job?
