On the other hand perhaps he would be very keen.

Sometimes it isn't apparent from watching how much of a 2 way conversation is taking place.

From his viewpoint, perhaps he thought the position he was being offered was that of the chair.

I take your point. Does he actually play it at dances? Even for him - that's a bit of a stretch...

At Prestsyn last year, I had a dance with a guy whom I simply could not follow. It was uncomfortable and horrible. I could tell that he thought it was my fault but was a bit surprised when he walked off half-way through the track. Deeply offensive. If I could remember what he looked like, I'd make sure I never danced with him again. Fortunately I got my first ever dance with Marc Forster straight after .

I really must get about more often. This waiting for a dance is stretching my patience.
See ya. Dance with ya. Be mischievous.

Re: Your wasting my time, enjoy dancing by yourself, see ya!

    Interesting thread.

My first "bad dance" was actually at Chill Prestatyn Apr 07, due to someone dropping out, I was able to go with a friend and share her chalet. I had only been dancing for three weeks.

On the first night, I plucked up the courage and asked a experienced male dancer to dance. Not only would he not make eye contact, and looked bored, he started to tut at every mistake I made, every wrong turn, every mis-step. Bear in mind that he was much better than I!! As soon as the music started to fade he dropped my hand like a hot potato and walked away without bothering to say anything.

This experience nearly made me give up Ceroc, luckily the next dancer (who asked me) was a real gentleman, and showed me some new moves, while giving me some of that lost confidence back.

Whoever you were - thank you.

It's been said many times, but it bears repeating.... attitude aside, it sounds like he couldn't lead for toffee. The shame of it being that most beginners wouldn't realise that, and would assume it was their fault.

If he really had been 'much better' than you, I'm thinking you'd have had a much nicer dance.

I remember there use to be a older lady of around 65/70 who use to come regularly to my local dance class

She was a lovely lady who had a bit of difficulty walking I seem to remember

Anyway after a few weeks as I always saw her sitting in the corner ,tapping her foot I went over to her and asked why she never seem to dance

She said her husband had died a few years back and they had always love to dance together . She felt also the younger chaps at the venue tended to ignore her and ask younger women to dance who shall we say were firmer on their feet

She told me she had done many lessons and was ready to dance but just lacked the courage to ask, in fact on two occassions when she did ask she was turned down flat

I thought I know some men are shallow and will only ask newbie’s if they look gorgeous and in their 20s etc and what does looks and ability matter

The lady had been coming for weeks and nobody had even asked her to dance based on what ? She maybe be a bit unfirm on her feet she maybe new she may lack some courage ,time may not have been kind to her face, however all she needs is some TLC and encouragement to bring some joy in her twighlight years,

A song came on and her face brighten up as she said it was one that her and her husband and dance to over the years.

So I took her hand and asked her to dance she seem so pleased

After a 30 seconds I said , "god your bloody awful , and after a minute I said "try and get a good concrete mix for those cracks on your face" after that I walk of the dance floor as the music carried on playiing.I think she was shaking ?

Of course I regret my decison It will live with me for ever

A babe to her left I could have asked was now dancing with someone else I was so angry
