I'd never thought of that before! Can't expect teachers to dance all night and then teach first thing in the morning I guess. So from POV of being on the dance floor till the end (which I guess you guys prob would be) an afternoon class is required!

I've spoken to him via text messge and this is his reply:

I'm stuck on the M20 because of Operation Stack, between J8 and J9, wedged in between 2,000 massive lorries. I'll be back as soon as the French stop striking - or, when hell freezes over, whichever comes first

We got caught on there on Friday night, too - and the technology at first didn't want to comply - despite the repeated attempts of putting "RoadBlock" into my TomTom, it tried keep sending me to M20. Having given up on the idea that I would follow its advice, it did re-route me straight to A249 - and 20 mins later we were there!!! Hurray for modern tech!

He's been to a dark Tango room somewhere in Kent it seems, judging from the text Lory received this morning .

I'd just assumed he'd had a nasty reaction to his wristband...

That's Ok though 'cos he can dish it out and take it - we've got our own back on him on a couple of occasions and he's always been a great sport and still delivered first class workshops..

Be it wrong or right here is my rough rule in which I apply in the blues room where more of a connection is made but can apply elsewhere.

If I am asked to dance then I will usually ask for a second dance in return. If I ask someone to dance then I think it would be good for them to ask for a second. If they don't ask for a second I will wait indefinately to be asked back.

If I am refused a second or not given the approprate attention then again I wait to be asked again, maybe forever.

If I dance with someone and they go on about how good their dance was with x, y or z then again I probably will not put them high on my list to ask.

There's always plenty of other people and I'm sure I've fallen short of other peoples rules on accasion.

    Everyone is different but similar.

    Steve
I have been asked about this post a nunber of times and it may even have inadvertantly ressurected some dance partnerships

I did mean they were rough rules that I apply in the blues room on a weekender.

    Why?
At my first weekender when I wasn't very good I got a maximum one dance from any person. As I progressed then I got more than one dance.
Hence I asscociate one dance with not being thought of as not that good.

However, there is another reason that people are on my exclude list. After learning MJ and blues for two years I felt I had got to level of confidence that I was happy to ask mostly anyone to dance.
The thing was a lot a people started to learn west coast. I felt my connection with these dancers diminish. It has been explained to me that this can be a short term effect whilst learning. Some of them also only want to West Coast and this did little to help.
I am now learning a little West Coast and am happier to dance MJ with the West Coast enabled. In fact I have enjoyed some lovely dances them very recently. Thanks Lory and Cruella for example.

I apologise to anyone who I have have offended along the way and I rarely turn down a dance.

    Re: Storm Aftermath

I had a pretty good weekend at Storm. I worked on the info desk for part of it which actually turned out to be great fun!

    GOOD

*Going for a meal at The Place on saturday night...gorgeous!

*Meeting some new people, catching up with friends and having some great dances.

    *Trampys blues room set, Perfect!

*Using slushpuppies as an alternative to a glass of wine

*Sunday night was a highlight, I had a great time with Caz.

    BAD

*Noticable absenses- really missed Roger Chin, Spin dryer and Jamie.

*Realising that not only have I had to mostly stop doing drops as a follower but I cant do them as I lead either

*The rumours going around that Trampy is the father of my baby. To start with, it was almost funny, but over time I found it increasingly hurtful that gossip was flying around about me. Steve and I are not together and never have been. He is my friend and dance partner and certainly nothing to do with me being pregnant, end of story.
