I'm not liking the pirate theme - never mind - hard to please everyone! Not great for ladies this theme methinks! Will sort a nice dress out as Saturday night seems to be fancy dress or dress up so will go with the latter this time round!
I have already decided what my costume is going to be. Just need to make it now, which will take ages... Good thing we got such a long time to prepare!

Pirates eh?
(Why oh why am I imagining a dance floor of Johnny Depp wannabe Capt'n Jacks dancing with buxom corset clad Geena "Cutthroat Island" Davis wannabes?)
Do you think I could get away with a T-Shirt that, on the front says "L337 hax0r!" and on the back the words "I HaxOrred Vista!" ?? Wassat? Wrong sort of Pirate?
Perhaps with the proliferation of Pirates I should come as Peter Pan? I'm half way there alreayd.. am Called Peter and All my friends will tell you I've never grown up!
Sigh.. I don't do Kohl eyeliner very well But I guess I'll just have to practice raiding, pillaging, plundering, and otherwise pilfering my weasly black guts out.
There were a few historically famous female pirates who captained their own ships (or stolen ships to be honest) and had male crews.
Ann Bonny and Mary Read (lesbian pirates), Charlotte de Berry, Ching Shih and Grace 0'Malley
However women on board ships were thought to be very unlucky normally.
