There is still time, if you are inclinded, send me a PM and happy to put you up and show you around
It is quite funny, maybe someone should call thier champs "The World MJ champs"
I did a class with you, I think it is was in 2003 or 2004 at hipsters... you did it to fast music and explained, no time for a C movement of the arm...
It was a cool class... even though a couple of ladies pulled my arm into a C I felt like jumping to the left, to follow thier lead!
You did give a lot of tips and tricks - which was cool... There are always those who are sooooo good they do not listen, but those who did listen were fun to do the class with.
Sadly, for many Hipsters lost its way and like all good things it has drawn to close. It is truly the end of an era. But at its peak nothing could come close. No other regular venue generated such anticipation or excitement. It was unique; in a league of its own. And sadly, it may never be matched.
The crucial ingredient: the perfect blend of jive, swing & blues, delivered by the master himself, Jon Brett.
Pure magic!
Thanks for all the amazing memories.
We should not underestimate the impact this night has had.
I am glad that the night is continuing under new people and I hope that people will continue to embrace the evening as they have done so many times in the past. Five years is a pretty good run.
Let's not forget the extensive freestyle events that have emerged in the last five years (Southport, Utopia), so people are not going to really be missing out if this is finishing and can plan their lives accordingly. A fresh perspective is what's needed, not just at this venue, but in others as well. The real joy can be lost in the face of commercial gain.
