And if you're lucky, it might've rained & the catalogue will be soggy.

I could open it and use it as a poop scoop bag for the moggy that seems to like crapping on the stones next to my front door (not my cat) I have tried that cat repellent spray - waste of time. Anyone know of any other methods (and no, I don't want to leave out some meat laced with rat poison) to deter the cat from crapping there?

You just have to pop it on your doorstep with a note saying you don't want the catalogues anymore. That's what I did and it worked....simple

Tiger poo? It keeps goats away.

What? Cat poo? I'm not surprised it worked.

Another vote for just put it back outside the door (and ask that no more are left).

Putting it in recycling indicates that you don't take recycling seriously or completely miss the point of it! Recycling is what you do when you can't reuse the item. Putting something that is designed to be reused into recycling, forcing it to be replaced (as the agent will have to get another catalogue to replace it) is pretty pointless.

I invariably order a load of useless stuff that I'll never use (although at the time I think it will be marvellous) and clog up my kitchen cupboards with it. More money than sense.

Cool Re: What do you do with unsolicited catalogues (Kleeneze, etc) through your door?

The people who spend hours pushing these through your doors are the people who answer those "Want to earn up to £500 extra per month" type fliers. Invariably the people who make the money are the ones that are higher up the chain.

Usually the distributors have to pay for the catalogues up front, the more they get back the lower their over heads. How much cash do you think they make on a £1.99 mop head?

So a note saying 'look thanks but no thanks' will usually do the trick as they won't want to risk losing one of their books. They are just trying to earn an honest crust, and they're usually fairly desperate for the cash.

We don't usually get those sort of things round here, but if they do they go straight in the recycling box.

On one occasion I chased after the person who had stuck about a dozen pizza leaflets through our door (it had been a bad day at work and there are only five flats in our block) and gave them back to him.

You can get an ultrasonic, thingy, that detects movement and blasts a high pitched sound that cats do not like...

My other neighbour suggested milk laced with asprins - however he said that was a rather more permanent solution

I even tried to do the tiger/lion poo thing, but the local zoo would not allow "the poo" out of the zoo!!

I have found nothing really seems to work unless you kill the buggers... (which I did not do, but was tempted)

I have now moved house and have 2 cats thinking my garden is thier garden... but they are sort of cute, and it seems they are potty trained.. no poo parcels

    True

My fault, I built my house and the house next to me, and then I sold the house next me to a cute school teacher... what I forgot to ask about, was pussy problems and general petting preferances...

Re: What do you do with unsolicited catalogues (Kleeneze, etc) through your door?

If you put a note out with the catalogue that says you are not interested and please no more catalogues, they will happily stop delivering. They dont want to waste their time or yours.

And its not sad to do this, I do Avon brochures in my street. As I was new to the area it was a great way to get to know everyone. I make about £80 a month for about 4 hours of work, which I enjoy

If you want to know how much they earn its about 25% of sales less the cost of brochures.

Re: What do you do with unsolicited catalogues (Kleeneze, etc) through your door?

These sorts of things get dumped into mailboxes in Oz.
We have a sign on our saying "no junk mail please" - this slowed things down a little, but they still dump stuff around the mailboxes which becomes a pollution problem (especially when it gets windy). As well, people who don't want the mail have a habit of dumping it around the mailboxes as well (but that's a whole other issue).
The problem gets worse around Christmas, with sales catalogues being pushed into the mailbox - so much so that actual mail can't fit! which is annoying, cos Christmas cards get bent and mangled just so they can fit into the mail box!
The catalogues go straight into the recycling bin in our house.

Neither the postman, nor all the leafleters push the stuff through the letterbox, it's always half stuck out.

Bad security and causes a draught.

I told the Kleenez woman last time I didn't want a catalogue, but I still get them.

Straight back outside the door for me. Kleeneze and Betterware aren't my choice of kitchen porn. I receive the Lakeland catalogue for that
