Interesting. I've only read the first few pages but this paragraph caught my eye.
We will object to words, logos, pictures or other signs which
are unlikely to be seen as a trade mark by the public.
For example, marks which:

if you are serious concerned about Trademarks they are free and defiantly worth attending
I e-mailed CentralEnquiries@ipo.gov.uk and asked: "Please could you clarify the meaning of the words: "Mark Text: LEROC" on that page?"
and got this response:
The protection provided is for the image that is on the register and for the goods and services listed.
The text is just clarifying the letters within the images.
