Well - (amazingly) - I haven't made it to Stevenage yet in 2008. New speakers.....hmmm.......now all we need is to 'freshen up' the playlists, take out a few duff trax....and it could be fantabadozeee

Thinking about this, Berkhamstead/Ian might benefit from this kind of investment - last time I was there 2 weeks ago, the announcements towards the end were soooo incredibly muffled they just could not be heard........is it a new mic required - or new speakers as well ? (and gold connectors of course).....

Oh - and I do hope Mark F. has fixed his left speaker! It seemed to have a dodgy cable for the last week or so.......

Sound sound equipment is an important ingredient in the Ceroc mix!

    Please invest in the best.

The place I am using has all the PA and Lighting in place. £3.5k's worth. Sounds and looks great. Just sorting out the music at the mo.

    Smokin' hot taxi dancers.

Seriously. A certain vaguely punky and utterly gorgeous taxi was one of the reasons I came back to ceroc initially...

What are your qualms about calling them taxis? I tend to associate the name taxi dancer with, well, a taxi dancer, but I appreciate this might be different for a first timer, for whom the word might have different connotations.

    Maybe, mentors ?

    Or totally, teachatoralally, tutors ?

Or, hey, totally off the scale, what about hootenannies ?

Re: What would attract you to a new venue?

All dancers down here apart from one or two are pretty below average which is part of the reason I have started teaching. The techer quality at the moment down here is very very poor. You wouldn't belive how poor it is.

Lee I think your comments above are unkind....most clubs get 50 - 60 plus dancers a week which is good considering the venue sizes....

I think you started teaching about a year ago in Bexhill and it only lasted about 5 weeks as you only had a max of around 10 dancers (on your best night).

I think the best way you could attract dancers is to get somone else to teach for you....

Your right it lasted 6 weeks and had 15 people. But then it was a six week course in a dance studio that was capped at 16 max .

You live in Hastings/Bexhill? If so, why do you travel out to Tunbridge, Worthing Etc?

Taxi dancers have been around for yonks.

They have male taxi dancers on cruise ships who dance with women - as there are usually a shortage of male dancers.

Ah thats where the expression comes from. Thought it was a bit random. I dont think I would be happy to use it though as it is so associated with Ceroc.

That explains why I got a slap from the female taxi on my first ceroc night. Now just leaves me wondering what sexual favours went on, on the dance floor
