yeah i agree (although timing can be really difficult to teach people) i have just set up a completely new team of taxis and was lucky to find some who have a great attitude and luckily they are almost there as far as the dancing is concerned

Did you see my thread on rating your venue, suggest you apply some of these basic principles.

A club I know lets punters email their requests before the night from a list.

For me the actual quality of the sound system is important.

Because it makes me think that the organiser can't fill his empty room and is DESPERATE to get dancers through the door. The one offer that really puts me off is "free entry" to everyone.

Very few. It might vary around the country, though.

Depends on the venue. Often I get no such refusals. Sometimes one.

Why would they refuse? Do they have alternative motives for every dance?

I don't think a guy rotating as a follower is a good idea to be honest. It should be fine, but lot's of guys don't like dancing with other guys, and I wouldn't want to force myself on someone who's clearly uncomfortable with it.

If you want to dance as a follower then dance as a follower with guys you know/trust in freestyle. That's a much better way to learn to follow than taking lessons anyway.

    I do that too.

My post was about what would attract me to a new venue. I'm sure different things attract different people.

OK, fair point. I guess I'd be attracted to a venue where there was a more tolerant attitude to same-sex dancing as well.

the main problem with a male going round in a beginners class situation as a follower is that its hard enough to get new (leader) men to relax as it is let alone if they are suddenly faced with a hot sweaty guy to dance with also in most classes the female followers far outnumber the male or female leads as it is without all the men suddenly deciding to be followers

As a taxi i have decided to learn to follow for two reasons one so i understand what the ladies have to do when they are following and two because i have seen a couple i know who dance half a dance as male led then change and she leads him this looked awesome but i will learn with female leads as to be completely honest i would much rather dance with a woman than a man

Mis-read that as "that won't stop me from dancing with men to get laid"
