My indulgence is I visit a chiropodist one a month.

I've been going nearly 3 years now.

    Mine are:

    - cleaner (essential - and preferably from Eastern Europe. Current one is from Bulgaria)
    - fresh flowers each week (single gerbera (+ bleach) and daffodils right now)
    - Green & Black orange flavour
    - yes: hand car wash is a good one - at least in summer months.

    Re: Indulgence?

Indulgence....... Hmmmmmmm......... Yes, I do treat myself to one or two things.....

I do have a window cleaner (he only does the outside though), but I live on the 1st floor, and my windows are old and not working properly, so there's no way I could do them myself without either investing in a massive ladder, or hanging outside the building on a rope and harness! He only costs £3 per month, so not really a major indulgence.

Weekenders. Ooooh, this is a big one. I do go to at least 4-5 weekenders per year, so that costs me quite a lot....

And my latest indulgence - A personal trainer!!
Ok, this sounds crazy, as I don't have much money, but it's a great investment. He's got sciatica just like me, and is clued up on working with people with back injuries, and the main aim is to strengthen my back and incourage me to keep going, even if I lose motivation. He's a gem! I only see him once a week (but go to the gym minimum 3 days per week), but he's always available to get advice from by phone or email, and has given me both an exercise programme to do at the gym, plus exercises to do at home. He's also very helpful with showing me stretches and techniques of alleviating the back and leg pain caused by my injury. And he's a complete sadist when we have our weekly workouts.....

Now there's another new career opportunity.

"Hi, I'll be your personal trainer. I know I have one leg shorter than the other, am blind in one eye and have lost the use of my left hand - but I'm sure someday I'll find someone with the same problems and I'll be his ideal personal trainer!!!"

I am sure there cannot be many with the same weird personal traits as me. So little hope of a job there.

Did I hear "thank God, I couldn't stand another one"

Well, I find it very helpful to have a PT who knows what it's like to have sciatica. And he's got the same attitude as me: Pain? Pah! Work through it! (But he's obviously very careful to not give me any exercises that will make me worse!).

Most cleaners of housing complexes in Sydney disinfect and clean the wheelie bins as part of the job. Our cleaner is a sweet guy, and does such a great job.

Perhaps talking is the wrong approach to persuasion

Not so fast TT, SA may interpret what I wrote as an invitation to withold until the oven's clean rather than to provide to ensure the oven is cleaned! It could go either way

A gentleman doesn't reveal his secrets, no matter how many often you grill him

After I served it up for you like that I'd have thought a 15% tip not unreasonable.

    Re: Indulgence?

    I have finally done it...

Found myself a PA - Yes I could do the stuff myself, but I am totally LAZY when it comes to paperwork.

    I am sooooo happy!

So hard to find a decent PA, but I have a good feeling about this one, so fingers crossed...
