Yes... Daveed and Kim did dance Tango in the Den. They popped in on the Friday and stayed for a while on the Sat. They left on Sun after there class for a prior engagement. It is worth pointing out the popularity of Tango in the Den as it does not get mentioned much on this forum. Over 80 dancers on the Sat. Considerably more than WCS which is always mentioned. Not knocking WCS though as I like that too. The same happened when I DJd at Rockbottoms Torquay in the Blues Room. Twice as many Tango dancers as WCS.

    A reputation of dancing naked?

Anyway the video is actually of us recapping on what was done in a class. It made me realize how difficult it can be to explain dancing.

Re: Southport Feb '08 - the aftermath

Well it seems to take me ages to recover from Southport but I am now feeling alive so thought I would add my review.

There isn't really anything to say that hasn't already been said. I had a blast. This was my first February Southport and it was by far the best. The atmosphere was indescribable. You simply had to feel it. From the moment I started dancing on Friday afternoon I was in the zone and this continued until Monday morning despite a family emergency tying to ruin my weekend. I loved the extra flooring and am thrilled that this will be back in June. It made the blues room less crowded and more inclusive. Pre-heating the chalets was also really appreciated.

Awesome DJ's. Especially loved CJ's early evening set. Only wish I could stay awake during the day to enjoy his other sets but I can't dance all night and then stay awake all day. I know some can but that's just not for me. Dance Demon and Sheepy played brilliant sets to see us through to the mornings and I was so pleased to see Blueshoes in the Blues room in the middle of the night. Fingers crossed for a longer late night set next time.

As for dancers they were all a joy to dance with. Everyone seemed really buzzing and really feeling it. I am not going to name dancers, mainly because there are way too many and I may miss some special people out. I do just want to say a big thank you to Jamie for making a very upset young lady feel like the most special dancer in the world. Those few minutes meant the world to her. Also a big thank you to Jak-Paul for all of his love and attention this weekend. I respect everything you do for me and you will never be taken for granted. Coffee, pies, cream and fruit in the middle of the night was perfect. Lastly all my thanks to Stokie for being there for me all weekend. I love you.

John and Wes you are both amazing. Thank you for working so hard to make Southport the best weekender ever.

113 sleeps until we can do it all again

Please tell me we're not going to link back into the "naked and oiled Killingtime" thread?

Although I can honestly say I have never felt this way because someone is a tall, older woman.... mind you I'm not sure if I fit into the 'good male dancer' bracket anyway.

If only having fun on the dance floor wasn't such a serious business

You're right, far too serious a business, it's a minefield!

I mentioned you were my one refusal at Southport - I omitted to mention it was down to one of the above, changing your shirt - you were very polite, there was no question of 'I'm not dancing with you'... & definitely no question of you're too tall older possibly

And yes you fit the bracket

BAD Tiger Pants. Really enjoyed that dance. Hope it was worth the wait.

Really wish you had introduced yourself though. Love putting faces to names.

Yeah, it was worth waiting for. Sorry again for not introducing myself it was only later that I realised I hadn't done it. Hopefully see you again soon.

was it the second piece of music from that , by any chance ?
I'm in the process of tracking this down, but god it's not easy !

Anyway, if it was, I'm gutted to have missed it. Love that piece of music.

I don't suppose anybody would have, hmmm, taken a completely illegal recording of the cabaret, by any chance ?
