It'll be interesting to see what the knock-on effect of this turmoil on the markets is. We're about to hit the "big bonus" season (well, for some anyway), and although relative to most people in the UK the traders etc, will still get huge bonuses, they won't be as big as they were. So they won't be going out snapping up luxury cars and new houses in quite the same way as normal.

This might have a cooling effect on the housing market, in London and the SE at least. Of course it also means that they will be paying an awful lot less tax as well.
