    Re: Rat Pack 9th Feb

Hi Y'all. Just wanted to thank Fletch, Jamie and the venue organizers for making it possible for Lucky and I to pop in for the night... that is, if popping in is a 2-hour drive! (Though with Jamie's foot to the floor, it was a bit shy of that.)

We both had a wonderful time and were absolutely wrecked when we finally made it home... a sign of a good night of dancing. Although I was blissfully unaware of some of the issues being griped about here, I did actually refrain from using the toilet after I discovered the soaking floor.

I am aware that I turned a guy down two, maybe three times... but he always managed to ask me just as I was mid-conversation and beginning a second dance with someone. So... guy-in-blue-shirt... I didn't mean to blow you off!

Thanks to Gerry for asking me to dance! And for letting me lead you! What fun that was. I'll certainly have to work on my WCS lead.

Fletch really did some wrangling to get us up there and back home... which we really appreciated. Also... like many others, I tend to stick to a corner. Usually one where I've found a seat or put my drink. Fletch dragged my butt over to the other side of the room, which resulted in me meeting some people on that side of the room and having some great dances. So... a little floor rotation can be a great thing to break down the perceived "hot-shot" barrier. After all... outsiders like Lucky and I don't know who the hot-shots are. Nor do we care. We'll dance with folks we've met before and anyone else who asks us.

It was sad to say Goodbye to Jamie, but perhaps I can find an excuse to go to France in the near future....

    I can't go on the 19th

I didn't relies Gerry has had a big family event booked from before we met, and with him coming from a large Irish family there are people coming from all parts of the UK, it will be the 1st time I have met them, and we will make it a joint celebration.

OK I could trow my bricks out of my pram and stamp my feet like a child, but some times you have to do the right thing even on your birthday, after all i'll be 28 all over again next year.

We might be able to get to Daventry just before midnight

Sorry Fletch, I'm sure you meant lego etc but I just imagined a house brick coming flying from a pram!

You'll have a great evening anyway - dancing is wonderful, but its people that matter.

Ruby darling, there's a few phrases that don't quite have the same meaning in the States, as here

You meant, Blow you out, didn't you
