Further to this thread on QR codes, I've used the generator at winksite.com a couple of times to convert several URLs into UR codes so that I can easily scan them into my mobile phone.
Now what would be really cool is to have an extension for Firefox that pops up a QR code of the current page ready to scan. It would save having to find winksite and manually copying and cutting pages. And would raise the profile of QR codes too.
So - does anyone fancy a project writing a Firefox extension??? The copyurl+ extension (which requires tweaking before it will work in FF2) might provide inspiration for the code to copy the URL...
I haven't read the original thread, but a 'bookmarklet' or 'favelet' might do the trick simpler, if you know your SVG DOM for script-generated vector graphics ? I've done some VML DOM work, which is 'only' accessible to the IE-using majority, as opposed to the minority that use Firefox, Safari, Opera or plugins etc.
