Gus van Sant's Psycho was a virtual shot-for-shot remake. Interesting film buff analysis here
Generally, I can't see the point of a remake if it's not going to add something. Even then, some remakes are just complete blasphemy (look at the cast!!!).
Thanks Barry BTW.. My eyes love you
Love the extra's in the tin but the main thing is the movie.. the sound .. and the picture...
Watched the film with a big grin of my face from opening credits to end credits !
(oh and thank goodness the film noir Sam-spade like voice over narration is gone)

We're so pleased you could join us! (! geddit!?)
Wait till you start looking through the extras. Especially the deleted scenes. It - broadens your appreciation of the film.
Watch out for the debate on whether Deckard is a replicant. I'm with Frank Darabont on this one; he articulates my view almost word for word in the relevant section.
And - lastly - isn't it a bargain, price-wise? I got it for Crimble but I saw it online for less than £15.
I liked the comment by Edward James-Olmos (Gaff) when he said About him being a Cylon !! Erm.. hello.. you're not in Battlestar Galactica now..
I think the whole Deckard is he/isn't he would have been a bit more obvious if he'd been shiny chrome with a night rider headlight (obviously harking back to the old school B.G. here.)
My cat has just done the feline version of this with the moggy from round the block.....imagine if you can, a dark room.......a pair of green eyes.......a noise...followed by fur and lots of hissing and I didn't even have to go out!

Caught the last few minutes of AvP on TV last night.
The film was a little slow, and it was pretty frustrating in the middle with all the fol-de-rol with the Indiana Jones-style moving stone walls in the underground castle, ho hum, but the final scenes were pretty good.
And I liked the echo with the first Alien that the only person left is the woman.
But still IMHO after Aliens it was all downhill.
