DJ – last time I went, the floor started off fine, but got stickier as the night went on. Talked to Jammy about it, so hopefully it’ll be even better, but bearing that in mind, you might want to plan your shoes accordingly.

I know they have a 10.15 cut off, but that is a bit keen!

[quote=Twirlie Bird;442770]This may surprise a few of you but it's Halesowen for me on Friday. All that way to attend a Ceroc Midlands night and taking friends with me! There must a be a very good reason.

A lot of new faces and what a great night. As a regular at Halesowen this has to have been one of the best in a while. I don't think there was a track played that I did'nt like all night.

oh and thanks for the dance twirlie.

Well, contrary to what it says on the poll, I wasn't the only one at Red Hot & Blue last night!

Had a fantastic time and the music was brilliant! CJ did a mariachi set which allowed inspired and creative dancing All in all a great night Thanks DD and CJ

Well, Chiswick was - somewhat surprisingly - rather good last night.

The main floor was, as expected, more sticky than a very sticky thing - I could barely walk on it, let alone dance. So I didn't.

The Blues Room was great - OK, floor not wonderful, and hot as hell (radiators on? Why??), but tiger did a great job on the decks, and there were some lovely dancers there, I had a good time. Worth queueing 2 days for

I had a fab night at Snow whites ball

CJ played a blinder ...as allways...thanks for the disco and Mowtown

every one was very freindly, ther were quite a few begginer to intermidiates there, but one thing that put this venue apart from the others, every one was up for musicality and having a go, there was no this is my routeen like it or lump it, at one point I was sat out watching and a track with a brake came, the whole room stoped

Loverly surpise to see Amy and Peter you guy's are fun, thanks for the help with Joe.

Tangeled feet you look wonderfull even if you are slightly taller than me!

DTS and Trouble wonderfull company as per....shame my hair was up DTS (Southport)

tsh did I nearly get a smile

and last but not least the two men in my life Gerry and Joe, I was proud to be with you

    Re: Derby Utopia 19th Jan

Well I had a fab night at Utopia in Derby last night.

Marc Forster on the decks (and teaching a lesson with Rachel, but I missed that so can't comment on it). So great music, as expected.

Loads of fab followers there , and I don't think I sat out a dance between arriving and the end of the last tune. I like the venue too.

One of the best nights I've been to in ages - and for once it was near to home.

I'm also grateful that Jive Addiction cancelled their very similar night, also in Derby, which would have been competing for many of the same dancers.
    Love dance, will travel

Chiswick was wonderful fun.....people and dancing of course - despite the floor being flawed. Then:

    Wroing music choice
Why did the DJ in the main hall play 'Son of a Preacher Man'? Great track though it is.....it is NOT a Ceroc/MJ track. It is 90bpm last time I checked. Everyone ground to a halt on the dance floor - and it spoiled the flow of things.
There were probably more duff tracks than usual in the main room.....

    Great music
A breath of energy as 'New Shoes' Paoloa Nuttini hits the decks. Why isn't this played more often on the circuit?

    Blues room
Atmosphere was ok - tons of people just sitting down and watching. Music was.......hmm.....mixed. Too much latino for me. I wish we could have some more Blues or blues rooted music in Blues rooms!

    Radiators
Hmmm - yes it was the same at Berko last week.....why are the radiators so hot? I did mention it to Ian and I think he was trying to sort it out. Maybe they get turned on early and nobody thinks to turn them off before dancing starts.

yep, was good to see you and other forumites on Friday night. Thanks to CJ for doing a set and letting me mingle and dance for a while. I'm always willing to try something a bit different. Gorgeous Gus is going to do a bit next month

I think it's just one of those centrally-run things, which can't be changed quickly, it wouldn;t surprise me if it was a central government health & safety mandate thing.

Although it's ironic to see the radiators on with the door open and fans blasting - oh, and to the organisers for having 2 fans in the Blues Room, at least they're doing their best with it.

The waste of energy hardly bears thinking about. And it's council run - Hounslow I think - what criminality.

I suppose on other night's there may be whist drives or meetings where they would need the heating on.

But the Chiswickians - a dance club - are there on Tuesdays according to the noticeboard.

Whats her name? Must be a simian though ... Gorgeous Gus is a 3ft high gorilla (our old mascot)...... just Gus has a slightly better rep on the decks than the gorilla ... but some would beg to differ

Re: Who's going where? Weekend 18/19/20th Jan 2008

Well I went to the West Coast Swing workshop and T-dance at Windsor Sunday afternoon and had a great time. Paul Warden was on good form, lots of faces I hadn't seen before, quite a few familiar faces from the MJ world. Very friendly atmosphere, lots of fun, and had some great dances but felt quite exhausted by the end.

Day was rounded off beautifully by a spontaneous meal with a few other people that were there.
