    Semantics.

If people are learning there is teaching. If you are helping them to learn you are teaching them.

So they can tell but not teach? Seems a bit of a semantic distinction to me...

You could say the same about any technique advice from any CTA-trained teacher; to the best of my knowledge, they're not trained to give technique advice either.

Blimey, I can't keep up with this terminology, I'm still referring to the Butterfly as a move.

But I agree, I think this is a silly artificial distinction. More to the point, it won't help if you get sued, I doubt that a magistrate will think "Oh right, you've called it something different so you're not really teaching." But this is getting off-topic...

It might make the difference between Ceroc getting sued and the taxi-dancer getting sued. I would be surprised if the issue ever got tested. I think the rule is there to try and keep taxi-dancers over-enthusiasm in check.

I think you are absolutely correct although we were told it was because the insurance had to be re negotiated due to a couple of incidents in the last few years

Re: 3 Moves in a Beginners Class?

It is still 3 moves in the beginner class round my way. The best teachers are using the extra time to cover some basic technique and that is a very good thing imo. The number of moves in intermediate classes varies.
