    Cleaning tiles on a roof

Does anyone know how to clean tiles on a roof?

I was thinking of doing it with a powerhose but i have been told that this is too strong and might break the tiles.

Is there a chemical way of doing it?

I have to ask - why do you want to clean the tiles on a roof

Aren't there more interesting/worthwhile things to be doing?

    Simple:
    1. Wait for good weather.
    2. Remove tiles from roof.
    3. Place in dishwasher.
    4. Wash. (remember warm or cold wash, NOT high-temperature, which could damage them)
    5. Return tiles to roof.

May take a while, but I think it beats my dad's old load-the-house-onto-the-back-of-a-lorry-and-take-it-down-the-carwash trick. (yes it got the windows clean as well, but it wreaked havoc on the ivy)

you can use a power hose easily enough but you need to be secure enough that you dont fall off the roof and you need to make sure that you are always hosing DOWN the way so the water doesnt go under the tiles - as for loosening tiles, just be careful...

There really isn't any necessity to clean roof tiles. However, if you have a problem with excessive moss, etc., you aren't so much talking about cleaning as pest removal. For that you really ought to get professional advice, rather than ask on the forum.

(Cue half a dozen replies from MJ dancers who are professional roof cleaners...)

Honestly? I couldn't care less if the ground hurts. The ground can take care of itself. It's me that hurts when I hit the ground - to me, that matters a whole lot more...

(yeah - so I'm selfish. What of it?)

I've NEVER been hurt by falling.. it's the sudden cessation from falling that usually causes the problems

luckily despite many high drops.. the ground has always been there to break my fall !

Yeah. Well, Rod Hull is my hero (explains a lot) and emu is my mentor.

But still, I would not like to EMUlate Rod in that particualr act! That is why I am asking you guys...you always come out with good stuff!
