Just to add to the mix - of course, some women wear hats.

Two of my most memorable dances of 2007 were at Prestatyn with the delightful lady with the Pink Hat.

I would love to dance with her again. Does anyone know where she dances?

And I do have a penchant for women wearing head scarves/bands..... dunno why.

If your follicles are on your head it's not a hat you would wear, but y-fronts...

How do the hat wearers keep the hats from slipping off? That's what I'd like to know.

Is there special velcro inside or do they use old fashioned hat pins.

My first reaction to this was that it was some kind of obscure joke, but I can't figure it out.

Then I thought that maybe you didn't know what a follicle was, but ... suspect though I maintain your scientific knowledge to be , it's not that bad.

So ... I admit defeat. I haven't a clue what this comment is supposed to mean. Although that could just mean I'm being obtuse.

But if you have silky hair and you are spinning or put into a drop, it's bound to come off.

She was 'mature' - I would guess > 55. Short fair-ish hair. Stylish - quite tall - about your height Fletch. Perhaps a slightly larger build overall.

She might have had fish net stockings - but that could be my imagination running away.

I wear hats, been quite partial to my new black trilby. It imbunes me with special dancing powers, I think it does anyway, or maybe it's just me... One of the two make me a good dancer, don't know which one

I have danced with many a hat wearer and they are perfectly lovely.
Agreed on all 3 points ...

There's only 1 bandana wearer who I like dancing with (but then I knew him when he learned to dance) - the others look like they take themselves too seriously, therefore I'd be a serious disappointment to them !

Now hat wearers ... danced with 2 in recent months (Warren & Kyron) & they are 2 of my favourite dancers - maybe it's the magical properties of the hats, but more likely it shows the same confidence & originality that comes out on the dance floor... And oddly enough Jamie, my best dance ever with you (& the only one when you didn't scare me witless !) was at Southport when you were wearing a hat...

Got to be something in it? I don't think it's an upcoming trend though, headgear wearers are still in the minority - must get very hot?

Never mind hats, let's talk about hair-dos. Do Blondes have more fun Trouble?

As for the hats.........well......I know some of the ladies find it a bit ostentatious. I find them a bit 'over-peacocked' (says spangly jacket JiveLad).

Have you considered joining this trend David?
the one who goes to berko is brian

the other one at ashtons i think is roger

i can hardly ever tell the difference between roger and lawrence

Not so much with a close-fitting hat. Mind, there is a narrow gap between close-fitting and headache-causing. The problem tends more to be moves where I'm turning under my arm or my partner's arm.

Having said that, considerate leads don't put hat-wearers into drops and multi-spins. Kinda like short skirts, really.

Considerate leads derive no personal satisfaction from multi-spinning short skirts but render a useful function to innocent bystanders and deserve all the praise such selflessness ellicits.

as for hats i have a fedora which shows itself on some occasions only trouble is being 6ft tall (and just as round) there are only a few people i can dance with if i am wearing it also your right eeyore it does get very hot so it only lasts a few dances
Having said all that most of the ladies nic it when i i am wearing it (the hat)

Hmmm... you know, I really think I'd avoid asking a hat-wearer for a dance? I'm tempted to add a poll to this thread, "Do you dance with hat-wearing people?"
