Rock Bottoms at The Corn Exchange Bedford

Aye aye sport fans Rock Bottoms at Bedford last night was one of the best nights that Trouble and I have had in a while.

Atmosphere was fantastic, the music was superb and the dancers was amazing.

Loads of forumites there and non forumites, I didnt have a bad dance all night, in fact I unveiled a new move that I have working on for a while now, it is called the Dell boy move.

This move will be better described by Fletch and Tor as I was dancing with Fletch when I executed the move and Tor had a perfect view of the move.

Trouble looked and danced like an Angel, as usuall.

Ok thats the thread started I will return in due course and add a bit more.

Wish I started a thread totally for Utopia's Heaven & Hell now

No sorry DTS - didn't do it for me........... music too loud and too poppy and it was bouncing off the walls. Why have a smoke machine, when all venues are now non-smoking My throat was sore at the end of the evening from shouting above the music and breathing in the smoke. And..... it was far too crowded, I have some lovely bruises from kicks.

However, there were loads of really lovely people there and I had some great dances. If last year's event hadn't been sooooo good and H&H wasn't sooooooo fantastic, I suppose I would have enjoyed it more.

This was my first experience of a Rock bottoms event and boy did I have a fantastic night.

I didn't have a bad dance all night and the standard of dancers was among the highest I've seen.

Thank you to all the forumites that danced with me.

I had my best nights dancing over the Xmas and also the best laugh.

while dancing with DTS ...well what can i say he was mincing about, and then did what can only be described as the scetch from only fools and horses where Dell leans on the bar.... he tripped through an open door and dissappeared from sight of the dance floor, I could see him doing the dying fly, but no one else could, then he emerged like Billy Elliott doing some peroet....Dave there aint no one like you

the place was fab and i almost passed out while doing Zoba the greek

lovely to see so many old friends and nice to see John and Wes....John i never knew you could Northern Soul

Too busy to be very enjoyable for me though I still enjoyed some good dances, just not as many as I would of hoped for and I was in no mood to seek people out for a dance given the congestion.

I've been to many Ceroc Central freestyles at Bedford Corn Exchange but stopped going as I always came away with a thumping headache cos the music was so loud and bruises due to the overcrowding. So NYE 2006 with Rockbottoms was great as there was plenty room to dance and we all had a great night!

What a shame that it was so busy for you guys this time

2006 was one of the best NYE dances I have been too

This year, more people (lovely ones mind) no yummy cocktails very little swing music, and that awful smoke machine

Well I had a great time, I thought the Rock Bottoms Team hosted an
almost perfect new years eve party atmosphere, but of course this was greatly enhanced by the dancers attending and their contribution towards that atmosphere, also the DJ's who did a great job, right on the button. I do have to say that I particularly enjoyed Rocky's set
This was not a swing/lindy dancers night (as perhaps previously enjoyed) but was opened out to all dancers.... and this proved to be a great success. WELL DONE TO ALL THE ORGANIZERS and thanks to all the ladies I had the pleasure of dancing with.

I agree that it was a bit crowded and that the music was a bit too fast (for me), but I had a good night at Bedford. The floor was clean and even, it was a little warm but not over-powering and the queue for the bar wasn't too bad. There were lots of lovely men and women to dance with and the Rock Bottoms team always do their best to make you feel welcome. The party bag at the end of the night was a lovely touch.

I may have been trampled badly at the beginning of the night but I had a totally brilliant time - loved it. It was fun, silly and there were terrific dances to be had!
This was my 2nd NYE at rockbottoms in Bedford and I will be back!!!
