The radiators take hours to cool down and are allegedly thermostatically controlled. Ashtons appear to have left a vital part of customer service in the control of a device with an I.Q. of 0, no memory and no predictive ability. It needs a human or a timer to switch off the heating long before the venue gets too hot.

Kickoff just in time for Christmas

Friday's freestyle was my first for nearly three months (Sept Southport) and I confess to being twitchy about 'form' and 'ability' before arriving. And though our pre-dance drink meant that I only had an hour of dancing before having to leave - it was brilliant and lovely to see everyone again after such a long time.

My observation is that it's always easy to criticise and find fault - and takes more effort to be positive.

    Happy Christmas
    Chris

it really doesn't. Most people do not like to criticise, so it always comes harder than a positive comment - which you know will be taken well. Thus the reason people exchange compliments when they don't even mean them

Not quite true. Most people like to whinge - but only in private. Actual complaints, made to actual management, take a bit of guts.

Most evenings have good and bad points. The trick is to try to give some sense of balance.

For example, the B&W ball was a bit too crowded - but the floor was great.

True, i mean at the black and white do once again on arrival I was told they had run out of orange juice for those who didnt want to drink the champagne. in a very matter of fact way.

Ive never found the front end staff that friendly but its a minor point

Im sure next year they will get some more and not make it a hat trick

Which is what I was getting at with "it always comes harder" . Which makes it true surely, not "not quite true"

Nope, you said "most people don't like to criticise".

I refined this to "Most people love to criticise, but only to other customers. Most people don't like to criticise to the actual organiser".

Meaning they don't like to criticise people DIRECTLY. Thats what I meant with the "harder" comment.

Yes indeed- most people don't like to criticise directly. Which is what I said and what anyone with an IQ of over 60 would have understood. happy new year to you though

Your wise words show a lurking mighty wit . Mighty? Nay...GIANT
