She sounded a bit mentally unstable if you ask me. Someone should have picked up on her behaviour running up to it.
I read the sad story yesterday of a mother who had a terminal illness that was given 6 months to live, taking the life of her 6 year old son because she could not bare to be apart from him.
She gave him a lethal dose of morphine then slit her own wrists.
I feel nothing but anger towards this so called mother and really am at at loss to understand how anybody could do something so utterly selfish.
Awful story and very upsetting but things like this play on my mind.
Can you understand it.?

Linky to story
And a BBC link too
Some of the print media seem to have jumped the gun on the "had cancer, given 6 months to live" aspect - the family are denying this, and the police say she wasn't receiving treatment.
Probably more to come out on this one.
oh god thats even worse then.
There are some very strange people in this world.
How would it have been picked up on though. What do you look for. What are the signs?
The only certain way to get free treatment for a serious mental health condition is to commit a violent crime and get convicted, whereupon you will probably end up in a secure mental institution.
Other than that it's treatment in the community, e.g. wait in line with all the people who have sniffles or mild anxiety...
If you speak to your doctor they usually take weeks to get an apointment for you with the local mental institution. They interview you (eventually, depending on the situation) and will either take you straight in, or you can walk in & admit yourself.
If you've been told you've only got so much time to live, I think I'd spend it doing things with my family & friends leaving them with memories they can cherish. What this lady has done is terrible causing so much more grief than necessary. Not to mention the hassle the family will get for her doing it. Things like this should be kept out of the paper, the family will have enough grief to handle with out so called friends selling their story.
