SA wanted to put a fake one up but I've insisted on a real one, so that's what we'll be having, although just a small one. Oh, and I have to clear up the needles
Well, thought i would ask seeing as im bored......
I have two trees. One at the house where my brood are and my x hubby is and one at my flat for little old me.
Mine are both fakes and i'll tell you why.
I brought a real tree in 1998. Beautiful thing it was that had needles that DIDNT DROP it said on the advert.
True to its word, we had very limited drop through the xmas period and it maintained its lovely look until around 2nd Jan when its usual for me to take down all xmas related items.
I touched the tree to take it out the bucket and every single needle fell off, onto me, into the carpet, the dog turned a different colour and all i had left looking at me was a great big twig and a green spiky dog.
To this day, im sure i can still find needles in that carpet and in the dog.
So i fake it every year and will do till the day i leave this mortal coil.
what about you folks.?

I fake too.
5 minutes to build the thing, 10 mins to decorate - sorted.
Ahh, the spirit of Xmas.
Fake because I don't want to prise needles out of angry cat's paws (that's a paw belonging to an angry cat, not a cat's paw that is angry...)
trust me, hilarious it was not, especially for the green spikey dog who then insisted on shaking them all off and scraping his ass along the carpet as he has some irritation which then resulted in a vets bill..
Bill Connelly eat ya heart out...
Rep always works tho
I have a fake tree about a foot or so tall. It has fibre optics which means I don't need any extra lights. I think it's too small for any other decoration.
Might get round to putting it up this year...

I prefer real - but due to practicalities I've been faking it the last few years
I've never had a fake tree.
The heavenly scent from a real tree makes clearing up all the pine needles worth it.
I shall be saving the needles this year too, to burn in batches in our new wood burning stove.
Shows you what a naughty mind I have, I thought this was about something totally different....
Fake all the way - but am thinking bout buying a min all ready decorated tree that you just pull out of the box
Black tree, blue lights and silver tree decs!! very untraditional but very me and jake.
No tree.. I wouldn't normally put up decorations but this year I'm putting some up as Twirly is coming up before Christmas.
I might be a geek and see what decorations I can throw together with the contents of my electronics toolbox and the content of my spare computer parts
