So what do you define as dancing?

Dancing involves more than lifts/aerials separated by poses. It usually entails footwork/armwork showing the style of dance being performed - not just a few walks in between the next lift/aerial. I've seen a performer only executing arm movements in ballet, and I would call this dancing over a routine with purely lifts/aerials, as I can see the technique in the dance form of the dancer. It shows the dance technique rather than the lifting capabilities of the performers. Anyone can lift and be lifted - but it's the execution of actual dance moves (footwork and armwork) that I call dancing. And incidentally, I call this dancing even without music being played.
(all personal preference I guess - but I do find all lifts/aerials kind of ho-hum over someone who executes dance moves with brilliant technique and styling. It takes more out of a dancer to keep the audience's attention without lifts/aerials - and this is what interests me.)

[QUOTE=ducasi;438176I can see the dance in it beyond just a gymnastic performance. [/QUOTE]
    I agree, that was amazing
