MRS PAR went along to check it out. Music mainly live bands loads of dressing up in 1950s clothes with make up to boot.
check out this web site showing photos of the event see if you can spot Mrs Par in them she appears at least 3 times.
Bienvenue sur le site Objectif Danse you can also hear some of the style of music played whilst watching.
We all had a fab time as usual, though now having already been to Camber 3 times this year find it difficult to come to terms with the fact that we paid to stay there!.
The event was fabulous, music was amazing, the atmosphere electric and what I like most about this event is that everyone is just there to enjoy themselves, it doesn't matter about whether the floor is even, the fact that there are no fans, the fact there is no free water, etc, etc just everyone having a good time doing what they enjoy.
Late 1940's and early 1950's clothes - lots of dancing and socialising - it's great fun dancing with the continentals especially the French (they have all our moves )
Dennis Binder was my fave there - good old R 'n' B and true blues
And Marc Lamar's radio show was great too
PS: Just checked out the French site - they haven't got Sunday's photo's up yet (the ones with the car cruise)

It could even end up as the longest short thread on the forum
Who knows eh!!:
I'm soooo jealous Minnie I've still not managed a visit to the Riot yet, and next year will probably be out too as we're looking at doing the Viva Las Vegas festival in October....Will get to the riot sometime though. Any good Doo Wop bands on? .......
Such a shame, I KNOW you would love it and it would great to have you there.
They had a great Doo Wop band this year - "The Legends of DooWop" they were 4 old black guys who all came from different bands - quite different but great
In the pub on Saturday there was a great band called Ponchartrain - never heard of them before, but there were great. They had a female Fiddle/accordian player who was superb and they played everything from country / western swing / R n B and Zydeco
All lovers of good music go there Mr. Cool - you would fit in fantastically - all good leads accepted, any style of dance
The main dance style is 40's jitterbugs/RnR - the French dance Swing/MJ (i.e: MJ moves to swing music - their version of Rock 'n Roll) there are some MJ dancers, and quite a few Lindy - but the style of dance is not important - it is all about enjoying the music and the social
They are already taking bookings for 2008 - it will be 21st to 24th November.
