Mine are Logitech mm50's. I think they might just been discontinued, but you might be able to pick them up cheap. I've seen them on sale in John Lewis for about £60.

I think they are really good. One thing I especially like about these speakers is they have a built-in rechargeable battery and the power adaptor which comes with it can charge both the speakers and an iPod at the same time.

Discontinued or not, Logitech have a new, very similar product called the "Pure-Fi Anywhere™". They look quite cool too – also saw them in John Lewis last weekend.

thanks for that the new ones look very nice and they come in black so would go very nicely with my ipod

how have you found the sound quality on the ones you've got? - what would be the biggest size room you would use them to play in?

I've got the JBL "on stage". Sound quality is fantastic, and they would definitely be good enough for a workshop scenario.
They also come in black, and I did see them advertised in Tesco for about £50.

No good for listening to when travelling but the Bose comes with a lovely carry case.

Its definitely a static speaker needs connecting to mains but the sound is fabulous.

in the carry case its just a bit bigger than a shoe box.

It's terrific and the case has all sorts of useful pockets for the iPod and accessories, when travelling and little hatches to use for headphone leads etc.

smile... was actually thinking for more in terms of packing to take places with me... bit bigger than a shoe box isn't so bad - although I don't think the bose will fit the christmas list budget

    Cool Re: ipod speakers

Franckckkcc has an amazing unit! Ask him to show it to you Yli. He let me use it when we were setting up for Blaze II. It worked wonderfully and I was amazed at how well it performed in that huge main room. It takes batteries too, so you can use it on the go, but it is quite large.

That was the iPod hifi, not really an option for travelling light but fabulous sound quality for workshops, pre weekender working and parties

I bought one of these yesterday (£199 from the Apple store) and they sure do belt out some serious sound!

I umm'd and ahh'd about getting the rechargeable version but to be honest, I couldn't think of enough situations where I'd need it, to warrant the extra £100
