The other thing to consider is how long is the seat? - the part where the pleats are stitched down - the longer this is the less can be seen if the kilt flies up

have yet to see the apron of a kilt fly up unassisted

Be warned; the full weight ones get hot {in temperature }... Sweat rash is not very comfortable - made that mistake once and was walking like john wayne for a week

    (Although I have been pounced on by four females at once and had underwear forcably removed... Of course I put up a fight }

Well now that the festive season is over, I'd just like to express my deepest gratitude to all of the men who wore kilts to Ceroc. You've made this girl very happy!

Kilts are tailored, impressive and smart (dressed-up looking) whereas shorts just look like you haven't got bothered to change before coming out.

Kilts are worn with masculine-looking boot socks whereas shorts tend to be disastrously teamed with ankle socks or little trainer socks.....either way they look really bad with dance shoes.

I personally think men look nice and relaxed in long shorts and sandals in summer - it just doesn't work for dancing in the evening.

I've worn my kilt with t-shirts before and without all the usual attire that comes with them (including masculine looking socks). I still fail to see why kilts = , shorts = .

Kilts are just fine and dandy regardless of what are worn with them
Shorts are awful except on the rugby pitch

Errr... A pink "Hello Kitty" T-Shirt, one of those hats with a propeller on, cycling shorts underneath it and, a pair of crocodile boots.

    What do you think?

I sincerely hope not young man!

Kilts = because there's the tease of whether the gentleman is a true scot or not. If you have a nice ar5e then a kilt just sets if off... Also you must have the kilt at the right length as too short/long then you look like a doofus who really shouldn't insult the scot's by wearing a kilt.

Think the rather scrummy guy in the porridge oats advert (and what happens when he goes up the ladder) now there's for you

Well, with the exception of the kilt I don't have any of those other things. So I'll need to find something else to wear with it.

I can inform you that if you ever see me at dancing wearing a kilt then I'm wearing pants as I enjoy spinning and other people enjoy keeping their lunch in their stomachs.

What, in a flatulence sort of way ?

Well I couldn't afford a real kilt so I just bought a tartan mini-skirt. Do you think it might be too short?

Seriously though, what's the right length?

Glad to hear it - dancing is the exception I suppose for underwear - unless you're an exhibitionist!

just a bit..espicially if you decide not to wear underwear
the right length is when the kilt sits on you knee -not above or below. If you do decide to buy one, get it made to measure as they allow for taking in and out in later years and a good quality one can be passed down the family.

I might buy another one at some stage and that would be my "proper" one. I think my light kilt is in the too short category but then it was cheap and I don't wear it much.
