    Kilts

Maybe this has been covered elsewhere but...any Scottish men planning to wear kilts over the party season?

    Re: Kilts

I gave kilts some thought after Britrock. CJ had worn a kilt and hadn't got very far in the rounds of the Open category. He'd come 3rd in the airsteps however. CJ is a good dancer and had a fabulous partner and I pondered on this for a while.

Please remember, I'm saying this as a Scot who owns 2 kilts and looks fabulously sexy in a kilt I've come to the conclusion that, outside Scotland, the kilt is seen as a gimmick, much like the cross-dressing gimmick I occasionally use. This means that the wearing of a kilt at a competition outside Scotland puts you in danger of being seen as a "fun", possibly "comedy", entrant rather than a serious competitor.

Note to CJ - my advice for competing in England. Get some tight, black leather trousers. You'll still be sexy, but the English won't see you as a long-haired man in a skirt.

Looking at the profile picture of CJ he would look good in an old bin-bag!! If he wore a kilt in England I am sure men and women alike would be very impressed!!

I think he's got something like this already, but it covers more than just his legs...

Wasn't thinking of competitions, just parties, but take your point (about the competition, not about you looking fabulously sexy - no idea who you are, but most men look sexy in a kilt )

So let's get this straight - shorts are the Ultimate Evil, but men wearing skirts are OK? How does that work then?

OK, so why are kilts OK, but shorts aren't? I mean, obviously they both show legs...

Like I said DJ, to me "Shorts" seem to mean schoolboy trousers (unless it's surf shorts and then it's waaayyy coool and okay - just not in November in Inverness 'cos it was -0.5 this morning - bit chilly for surf shorts!)

Kilts = Man.... all man...... even the less well built men look okay in kilts but if you put a good looking man, well built man in a kilt... well! Watch the ladies swoon......

Ahh I knew there was a reason I wear them apart from the ease of movement and comfort

To answer the original question, yes I will be wearing my kilts as usual at the various events up here in sunny warm scotland.

The question is which one to wear for the Christmas ball :
    - Normal tartan
    - Camoflague
    - Leather effect

    hugs
