That's easy...they are good actors for the first year or so, or at least until they get you pregnant, then they revert to 'F*ckwittery'.

So from this, we can infer that the wives of fertile actors are more likely to have affairs.

At least we've narrowed it down some.

Technically, gods in Buddhism, if they exist, aren't "ascended". They're mortal, and trapped in the cycle of reincarnation as we are. Of the animals, I think people probably suffer least and have the most capacity for enlightenment. Did you have any particular animal in mind that would be "above" people?

To me, that's the beauty of Buddhism. It doesn't tell me to close my eyes and believe that people must be at the top of the ladder. It tells me to open my eyes and observe that people are at the top of the ladder. If my observations tell me differently, it tells me to follow my observations. At least, that's the way I interpret the religion.

The object of the "game" is to get to the top of the ladder.

Once at the top, you are exempt from having to reincarnate, which is the object of the game.

However some machosists volunteer to incarnate on planet earth to help out.

    They are called adepts.

Plus, they don't have to go through childhood, but can incarnate at any age.

Not sure where I picked this up, I'm not saying it's Budhism. Is it Martin H?

Ah - now that's a bit like the trend in modern day football where footballers will try and get an opponent booked by influencing the ref in whatever way they can.

Barry, I hope you are not overly affected by it. I sense that the impact on your well being and reputation has been relatively mild, although if this is not the case, please let me know and I will see what I can do to rectify it. I do appreciate you drawing it to my attention.

    Spelling error.

    I meant masochists, not machosists!

    I like this idea too.

I think that's the exact phrase I put in my divorce papers. Uncanny!

My daughter believes in reincarnation at the moment. She wants to ask God if I can be her Mummy in our next life too. Bless her little cotton socks

In my understanding of Buddhism, the object of the "game" is to be freed from attachment to life, and thus be freed from the circle of reincarnation. This state is called Nirvana. That's similar to what you wrote.

This is a concept of "great vehicle" Buddhism, where they are commonly known as Bodhisattvas. I don't know if it's True.

Yeah, I've heard that. Buddhism doesn't require me to believe in such special powers, and I tend to my natural skepticism in the absence of demonstration.

It's certainly similar. It could be Jainism?

Me too, it's a bit sci fi.

Would need to steal someone's identity.

Hey, maybe these ID stealers are really enlightened beings?

I've yet to meet either an adept born as a baby or one from another sphere/plain. ASAIK.

    I just googled Jainism.

They appear to go around naked.

Won't meet many of them on the dancefloor.

I think this theory makes it clear that we're all just one big overlapping soul. Hey, Andy and Gus - you'd better kiss and make up, since you're actually the same person!

Hmm, this could explain a lot about Connie!
