What's the difference between this and MSN?
I have just discovered skype and think its absolutely marvellous!
I can now call my daughter and grandchildren in Australia, see them on the screen, speak to them for as long as I like... and all for FREE !!!
What a fantastic communications tool.
Anyone else on the forum using skype?
Perhaps you would like to paste you're skype name and be contacted by other forum members with a view to having face to face conversations.

Skype is a proper telephone system I have a normal handsfree phone that does skype and normal calls - if i want video i can use the skype client on the pc/mac. People phone me on a normal phone number and get through to my normal phone/computer (depending on what i choose to answer with). I can phone out to any number very cheaply and if i want to use my mobile for an expensive call - i.e. Australia it only costs me the normal mobile fee to phone my house and then the extra skype charge to Oz - 1p or so. Pretty useful. Not that I phone Australia much mind
All they need is a gmail account - chat is built into it.
Personally I'm recommending meebo.com even more now - it does ALL the major instant messaging networks , supports rooms and collaboration video/chats and recently voice and video calls - and you need not install anything at all
Voice chat isn't on gmail's client, you need the installed client for that. Google's implementation of Jabber though (which is what it actually is) is a bit shaky at times. I've never used meebo.com but lots of people seem to like it.
Ah, good times .
That I am .
Why do you think that? We could talk about reincarnation in a non-linear time frame for one .
