Drats and double drats, DTS and I are going to be in camba so we are going to miss ya not only in london but of course at Camba.... have a great time xxx
We are going to be traveling down to London with friends from all over the Midlands this weekend; so who else will be dancing in London? Any forumites coming out to play that we haven't met or danced with yet ... please come over and say 'hi' and grab us for dances.
This weekend sees the re-opening of Hammersmith after being shut through the summer for refurbishments, complete with two rooms and top DJs it's going to be too good to miss. It will also be cool to be one of the first to have a nose around the new place.
Friday night is Twickenham Utopia (the original and best I've been reliably told). We love the Utopia blues nights we've been to, but Twickers is Utopia's spiritual home. I'm looking at it like a pilgrimage
With Berko on Sunday to round off the weekend it looks like a fun packed few days down in the smoke! See you there?

I've added Ashtons to the poll - Marc and Ian would be most upset if we left them out.
I might heading off to Hammersmith depending if im not working this weekend, if i am that means i'll have to give it a miss
Utopia at the winning post is great. Just don't do what we did and think that looks easy to walk to from the train station. Our feet were so sore by the time we got there that we could hardly dance all night....
Oh, and they charge for water. I thought it was us scots who were meant to be tight!
Otherwise, top notch - amazing dancers and great music.
The nearest BR station is Whitton and not that far to walk.
Have a look at this: S'Funk

Leroy (Satchel) Paige (1906-1982)
Mickey Mouse's girlfriend, Minnie, made her film debut, along with Mickey, in "Steamboat Willie" on November 18, 1928.
That date is recognized as her official birthday.
Not dancing this weekend though might be along for Bisley if there's time on Sunday
Warmwell for me.
I don't think I can dance properly in my evening dress i'm wearing on Saturday.

I will float about chatting while the lessons on (for a change) and then get changed
Ha - well haven't met you yet Stokie.....and your schedule Fri-Sun is (all being well) exactly mine - so it would be nice to say hello!. Unfortunately Mrs. Jive Lad (a proper dancer) is off for a Soul Weekend so won't be there (it's always nice for her to dance with forumites and then I get the inside track on how good they really are ).
Just wondering - what are the guys expected to wear at Hammersmith...Glitz N Gladrags or whatever it is.....

Hammersmith for me on Saturday then a fab Latin workshop at Berko on Sunday afternoon before the evening dancing there.
If anyone is getting into Berko early evening and fancies meeting up for a bite to eat - let me know....... it's lonely eating on my ownsome!

The gender balancing is looking good for all events, so far!

Still in 2 minds as to whether to go to the Hammersmith re-opening?
