    PDF Files

Can anyone tell me what a PDF file is. A friend has sent me an email with an attachment. I clicked on it and the options of find, Save or cancel comes up. Eventually it saved in my downloads but wont open. Why I dont know! It says something about adobe and acrobat. What can I do?

go here Adobe - Adobe Reader Download - All versions and download acrobat reader. PDF is portable document format, and it's a bit more accessible than a word document, just you can't edit it (or at least not easily)

You should be very careful about opening PDF's at the moment; they can be used to spread viruses. See, for example: Nasty PDF exploit runs wild | The Register

I'd guess I've recieved about 1000 .pdf files this year. I think 1 was genuine.
