wheres the "semi-evil" option - i wanted to pick that
In all seriousness, I do not think Ceroc are evil at all. I voted "Tin Pot Dictator Level". Because I think that's the level of control they exert over their population. But their motivation is not to increase the level of evil in the world, it's to increase the amount of cash in Ceroc. A very worthy objective for a business (addendum - I've had to change my vote, see below - I would vote "a force for good" if that was one of the options )
Now, to the talk about evil. Think of the great wars or the great revolutions. The losers are always the evil ones - because the winners get to write the history. Nobody, in any battle say "I'm going to work for the forces of evil". They think they are fighting for the right side and that the other side is evil. Their fight is a crusade against the "forces of evil".
Look at Iraq, did Saddam wake up one day and say. I'm going to be an evil dictator. No, my guess is that, although he was never an altruistic leader, he probably did what he thought was right for his party, family, friends, etc and saw anything that stood in the way as "evil".
My guess is that Mike Ellard sees non-Ceroc MJ organisers as evil and non-Ceroc weekender organisers as an even greater evil. Which, of course makes Mr Ellard a force for good*
*damn this logic stuff, I can't seem to get it to work properly today
I think that saying "in all seriousness" is a bit like saying "I'm not doing it for the money" - to my mind it means "do not take what follows as a serious post". My serious posts are abviously serious because of their content - you, the reader, must be wondering which forum you can find those serious posts
How can you put Sauron and Dr Evil in the same bracket?!!! Surely Dr Evil is just comedy evil at best, possibly just slightly more evil that the inept Dastardley and Mutley hehehehe
Not so much evil as hidebound, petty and shortsighted.
True, but he did a lot of damage anyway and most of the other people listed as examples of evil failed eventually too.
