Mmmmm, I'm suddenly feeling hungry! Maybe I'll have to dig my own bakestone out of the cupboard...
Aye aye then sport fans me and the Trouble had a baking day today, and no actual blood was drawn in the kitchen.
After procuring all of the ingredients and pre-burning the bakestone Trouble and I got stuck in.
And I must say we have a big plate of Welsh Cakes that taste marvellous.
We started out with Michele measuring the ingredients and me mixing them in a big bowl. This lasted until she said "get out of the way, your mixing it all wrong". How can I mix it wrong, its only mixing for goodness sake.
She then mixed them the right way and we rolled the mixture out using a bottle of wine.
She supplied me and i cooked them on the bakestone.
When cooked we sugared them and let them settle. They taste great and we have a big plate full of them.
Michele looks like she has been mugged by a snowman, covered in flour and mixture.
All in all a very good 1st attempt, so my guests for the Mariachi night shall be the 1st to taste our homemade cakes, there will be a fresh batch for the Mariachi weekend.

Ahhh !! (*sound of a penny dropping from a great height*) It's just dawned on me (after googling it) that a Welsh bakestone is equivalent to a Scottish Girdle !!
My mum has one and I've been looking for one.
My mum makes the most excellent, Drop Pancakes, Tattie scones and Girdle scones you are ever liable to sample !!
Me and my Trouble got ours from Treforest in South Wales(birthplace of Tom Jones).
