    false walls, false doors, posts

Reckon she could easily have missed the second room.

Oh apologies - a function suite.

Is it one DJ per room or just the one DJ?

Perhaps an announcement would be in order, to alert dancers to the second room.

The two rooms thing is a bit of a brown herring... (although technically they are two seperate function suites...) - and we don't advertise the event as having two rooms. It's basically one big room that does have a divider down the middle that we pull back. That means that there is only one Dj playing at a time, although we do have two different DJ's (Myself and SF) that interweave during the evening.

That said, the two areas of the opened out room do have a different feel (- or maybe it's just me that thinks they feel different...) The one closest to the stage is next to the seating area so is more public and the one through the pillars is more enclosed so feels a little more intimate.

We're going to put full details on the Utopia website later this week, but...

S'Funk is an evening of Soul and Funk music with a bit of disco also thrown in. Unlike a normal Utopia night there won't be a restiction on the tempo of music, so it will be a range from around 90bpm up to maybe 150bpm. As always SF, Val and I will mix and match the best music we can find and we really want to create a relaxed atmosphere where people can just also just boogie by themselves if they want to.

This always seemed to work really well at the end of some of the weekenders we've been on so we thought we'd give it a go and maybe run it once a quarter if people enjoy it.

Like the usual Utopia though it's not going to be everyone's cup of tea, but if you like Soul, Funk and Disco it'll be right up your street.

Thanks to a very understanding someone who was meant to be sleeping on my sofa I have now changed my plans for that weekend. I will now be able to come to Twickers Utopia and Hammersmith. How excited am I. It will be my first time at Twickers.

What time do both events finish?

One area is used by the good dancers - you just need to work out which area that is Astro

I really like the Winning Post as a venue even though the floor has been a little talc heavy on one or two occasions. It suits the Utopia vibe much more than larger venues such as Ashtons IMO
