Bend down by bending my knees then standing up again. I can doing it but it's such a struggle and can sometimes rather hurt. It's that occasion where you decide what else you can do while your down there. And I'm only 26.
OK sport fans here we go...
Today , Friday i had to take my lorry in for its pre-mot check and servicing.
Now the young, 22 years old, fella that works for me cant drive so we came up with a plan to get the lorry in the workshop and then get back home.
We loaded 2 x mountain bikes on the lorry and cycled back from the garage.
All seemed like a good plan until we clocked the mileage on the lorry as 12 miles from garage to home, no problem we thought, piece of p*ss.
Anyway having just got back in from a 12 mile cycle ride...I can hardly walk, my a*se is like a lump of concrete and my legs are like 2 pieces of wood.
Is it me or am i getting older and fatter and unfit.
Have any of you had a wake up call trying to do something you could do standing on your head a couple of years ago?
They do say that its the recovery rate that shows how fit you are....
I will be right as rain by Xmas 2010.

I went for my first run in 7 years last night. It was 3 miles around a lake near work and at the end I felt refreshed and good about it but wouldn't have wanted to go around again.
7 years ago I wouldn't have thought it worth bothering to put my running shoes on for any run less than 6 miles at a lunchtime and a Sunday run would have been 17 miles. A Sunday cycle ride would have been 90-110 miles with the cyclists touring club. I have been kidding myself that dancing was an equally good way of staying fit but there is no getting away from it that time and lack of practice are taking their toll.
So many things I want to do and only one lifetime to fit them all into.
Went to see my Dr a few months ago...not for me, but for one of the kids. While I was there he asked me how I was, which I thought was a bit odd. Anyway, he gave me the once over and concluded I was had high blood pressure and was on the edge of a nervous breakdownas if I've got time for one of those
With regard to the high blood pressure, he said "you're not as young as you used to be". Thanks You can book me in for the break down in 2009...I might have a few days spare then
I want Doc Martin as my GP.
I did the 3 peaks challenge last year, was as chuffed as monkeys to finish it. Couldn't walk down the stairs the next day though.
As you say, not as young as we once were
I'm feeling younger, fitter and healthier than I have in the last 5 years.
I could blame Chiltern railways for me running down (never up) accelerators and that’s when I get the pain
If Chiltern got us to Marylebone like within a week of the schedule time I wouldn’t have to run
Reminds me of my old sparring partner , they use to say if you don’t duck in time your not fit enough
DJ me thinks there is a big conspiracy going on GPs trying to cover it up as well
I tried the 3 peaks challenge threw up after 3rd burger. So what’s that then highest 3 hills in England/Scotland/Wales ?
