The song was 'Nightingale sang in Berkeley Square' - Some bloke from Cheshunt, I don't know his real name, but me and sis nicknamed him Frank Butcher.
tell us about that first special dance, the one that got you hooked. Was it with a friend, a Taxi dancer, Teacher, a stranger? Can you remember the track that was playing, or just if it was it fast, slow or medium?

Mickey Mouse's girlfriend, Minnie, made her film debut, along with Mickey, in "Steamboat Willie" on November 18, 1928.
That date is recognized as her official birthday.
Still waiting For that speacail dance hahah!!!!!
I distinctly remember it.
4th time at ceroc - and it got me hooked.
Venue - Casbah
Track - Proud Mary by Tina Turner, which has always been a favourite of mine pre ceroc.
Partner - I don't remember him at all. But he was obviously a good dancer.
I was hooked just from watching the busk. Don't recall any special dance that hooked me at all. Although i've had a few special dances since I got hooked.
Had a few special* partners too! (*needs)
I don't think there was a specific dance that got me hooked. There was a specific evening (fifth time I went to Ceroc), and that was the evening when everything started to click - but no special dance. Those started happening after I was already addicted.
Can't remember the first time I got hooked on dancing per se, but can remember the first time I got hooked on the blues room
It was about a year ago ...
the teachers daughter danced with me to "red dress" by sugababes on the night I joined... I was hooked!!
It was with the teachers girlfriend, can't remember the tracks..
All I remember is me apologising that I only knew 6 moves (second class ever), and her telling me, she could dance with me all night, "because you dance 'with' me".
<tears welling up as I think of how nice she was to me>
From that point on, my social dancing has always been about connection, and secondly about moves.
I was hooked on the very first night too but I clearly remember the first time, I really experienced true 'musicality' and suddenly this whole dancing lark, took on a completely new meaning, something just clicked in me and I went... WOW, now I'm truly dancing..
I was at Hipsters and the track was 'The way you look tonight by Frank Sinatra, my partner was Nigel Anderson.. and when the line came '.. that laugh that wrinkles your nose' I remember he wiggled my nose.
I believe we followed up with 'Regular Joe' and that was that. A whole new world had just opened up!

Addiction occurred almost immediately for me.... Those special dances - mmmm I'm not telling. Let's just say that some of them are listed in the "message in a bottle" thread - The guys who are listed there know who they are..

It was on my first day actually. In the free style. I can't remember who he was. But he just made me feel like my effort wasn't put to waste. I was quite nervous (as anyone would be) about joining, but he didn't try to make me learn something new, he just stuck to the moves i'd just learnt in the begginers class, which i thought was quite good, because my first day and all, the moves are quite tricky to remember the first time round, and to get the hang of letting someone lead you, haha that was a mission in itself. But yes,,, his dance was the one that got me hooked, because he didnt mind dancing with a complete newbie.
But now, there is this man, that sealed my addiction haha. He goes every week, (well for the year i have been dancing) and in my oppinion he is the best male dancer at that venue. I always look forward to dancing with him, and he helps me learn new moves i don't know, and goes over the routine we'd just learnt in the intermediate class a couple of times through out the freestyle dance. The best dance i had with him was to the song, "Now i can dance" by Tina Arena. He just made me feel although i was drifting without effort lol & also that was the first dance i started to learn drips, drops and leans =].Very memorable.
