anyway - the case is still ongoing and they've come out witha beauty to rival even the composite pictures (look can't someone just say "yes, they do look completely different...then i'll be happy)...this latest is...

He has used cocaine. It was only detectable in his urine so all they can say is "he had it in the past" but despite it not effecting him on the morning of the incident the expert witness is questioned on what cocaine does to you, which included "may become aggressive" . So an irrelevance is included by association. Then of course the fact that there is NO evidence he was aggressive is not mentioned at this point, its left to us to make that massive leap to "therefore he must have been aggressive". I suppose he did press his head hard against the innocent policemans gun and attack 7 bullets with his brain, but that seems like a stretch

So we have established he was a smack head and looked shifty , not sure what your point is ? Seems you were talking to yourself on this thread

What we've established is that them in charge of this mess are still trying to wriggle out of assuming responsibility for what occurred. Either that, or that it's OK to gun down shifty-looking smackheads on the tube. Sometimes, it's hard to tell.

Ok i give in Menezes isnt guilty

Never said those in charge dont have a case to answer, its the officer on the ground i give some consideration for ,even if they have 'a case to answer as well'

Ironically, we agree on that. I do think the officers on the ground were very badly let down. Unfortunately for Menezes, he reaped the worst of the consequences of that. And unfortunately for all of us, no-one in charge seems particularly keen to take any lessons from the whole affair.

well summarised. their feeble attempts at trying to pass some blame to Jean Charles ("abnormal moving hands, cocaine, he sat down in a not natural way, he was an illegal alien") and move blame away from the police ("he ran, had a rucksack, he looked like a suspect in this composite , he came out of the bombers building, he advanced toward police")...are extremely annoying to say the least.

A "rooster on the space shuttle" sums up the entire situation quite well i think.

I really wonder sometimes if you type entirely with your pen1s

    Its two sided
No it really isn't, at least not EQUAL sides. The police are there to protect the public, killing them is out the question. Its a dangerous job of course and you will, as a policeman, face a criminal who wants to physically harm you at some point in your career. Nature of the beast.

    Re: Jean Charles De Menezes

    Just been reading this article....

It seems to be saying that he may actually have been here legally, as his passport apparently indicated that he entered Ireland from France 3 months before being shot dead, and thus could visit the UK legally for up to 3 months...

Earlier, Mr Thwaites cross-examined immigration official Paul Roach over a counterfeit stamp found in the Brazilian's passport, asking if this meant he had been in the country illegally.

Mr Roach told the court Mr de Menezes first entered the country on 13 March 2002 and was given six months' leave to remain, before extending his stay, as a student, to 30 June 2003.

The next record was of him arriving in Ireland from France on 23 April 2005 but there was no notification of when he returned to the UK.

The court heard how as a person entering Britain from Ireland, he would have had an automatic three-month leave to remain which at the earliest would have run out on 23 July, the day after he was killed.

A counterfeit stamp found on his passport may only have been added after he entered the UK, Mr Roach said.
What's not clear in this report is which stamp in his passport is the alleged counterfeit one.

    Anyone know more about this?

    Re: Jean Charles De Menezes

Well, as we all know by now. The Police were found, rightly so, guilty of being criminally useless (or whatever the proper term is). JCDM could have been anybody, it certainly wasn't who they thought it was.

The BBC, here, have a nice timeline summary graphic thingy.

One of my favourite quotes is the one from the surveillance officer who said JCDM was "possibly identical" to the actual suspect. Hopefully when this policeman is on traffic duty he doesn't ticket everyone who is "maybe traveling over the speed limit". He may let them go and call in firearms of course, after confusing a cigarette for a gun. Mind you, going by this guys eyesight I could stopped for speeding without even having a car and be referred to as "Miss".
