Writing a good sick note for a weekender

I was thinking with more weekenders its PARAMOUNT that we devise a good sick note/excuses

e.g Lynn is running out of holidays like many of us are (see Breeze thread)

The forum will write you a sick note for monday

My friend says phone at 6am monday before you finish your dancing (assuming your taking the monday as a sickie)

    Say the truth

Your are sweating haven't been able to sleep all night etc

Phone at 6am so you dont have to talk to someone live ie leave message on the managers answer phone ?

    Any other ideas ??

Stewart, you do make me laugh!

Well, to add to what your mate said and to sound EVEN better, you could say, "even though I'm feeling like i'm at deaths door, I'll see if I can manage to come in for couple of hours later"

Then turn up, on the way back from the weekender, looking like **** and they'll take pity on you, cos you look so aweful and probably send you home, saying what a great guy you must be...

Whispers round the office - did you see the state of him, poor love! He must be so dedicated to even attempt it!

I'm a good girl, don't do sickies. Really, I only don't go into work on days I know I won't be able to function very well.* I did that once because I felt I had to go in (in a previous job) and spent the next week dealing with the extra work my mistakes I'd made trying to work when feeling awful.

*Of course post weekender I don't function very well!

since my afternoon is only an hour and thirty minutes, maybe this is the one I should try.
Now, how do I sound convincing to the night shift that will answer the phone @ 6/7am?

Don't worry about that, after a whole weekend of dancing and partying, you won't have to act!

    *smug mode*

I don't work Mondays and Fridays.

I agreed with my boss that I would work 3 days a week and I knew it would be best to take these days off because if dance weekenders.

    *not so smug mode*

If only I had a live in babysitter.

Actually, I did - especially by the blues-rooms-inhabitants. Anyway, explanation forthcoming :
Vegetable is a fantastic blues dancer. At 6am on Monday morning, when the weekender is finishing, you'd do anything to keep it going. One of the things would be to abduct Vegetable for private consumption.
Hope this makes it all clear now

So? Weekenders are year-round-destination, just like the Canaries, so sickies are a year-round-excuse-hunting experience

The Scottish end of the week-ender season is under way.
Some might need original sick notes.
