AND it's being shown in High Definition on the BBC HD channel - Lilia in HD is worth the price of the licence fee
There have been threads on a couple of gossip websites saying that filming has started for this year's Strictly Come Dancing! They've filmed the bits for the title sequence this week. A Popbitch poster said that Brendan was dancing with Kelly Brook. That poster also saw...
There's also been a very strong rumour about Neil Warnock (ex-Sheffield Wednesday manager) taking part.Penny Lancaster, John Barnes, Stephanie Beacham, Dominic Littlewood, Gabby Logan & her husband Kenny, Letitia Dean, Gethin Jones (Blue Peter), Kate Garraway (GMTV), Alesha Dixon (singer - ex Misteeq) plus a couple of sportsmen.
We'll find out how true this is when the official press release comes out next week. The show starts on 6th October.

Lou - any idea how you can get tickets for the new series?
As far as I know, it'll be the same as past years. Normally, it's announced on the same day that the press release comes out. There's a phone number that you have to keep calling until you finally get through. Last year they had a website too - but I gather they're not planning to do it this year.
There seem to be fewer & fewer tickets each year. Most of them go to friends & family of the contestants & BBC staff.
Hiya Andrew,
Don't let the Missus catch you gawking a Lilia!
Hey, looks like Darren and Lilia have their own web site, with a Forum where they answer Questions from the Public!

You mean Kenny Logan and his wife Gabby Kenny is MUCH more famous, up here anyway.Gabby Logan & her husband Kenny
Ah, didn't realise that was the case, I assumed you got a ticket so got in...much as I'd love to go maybe it's not worth the bother haha
A ticket is basically an "opportunity" to get in - you've got to get there very very early to guarantee entry I believe. So it's a very full day, with lots of waiting and queueing, to see 1 hour of telly, usually with a much worse view than on TV.
Unless you're a photogenic woman, in which case you might just get a good seat...
I went to one of the shows - and was lucky to get in, but the 30 or so people behind me didn't
As DJ said it really was an 'all day' hassle, lots of people bought chairs or blankets to sit on (long wait) and picnics - although there is a big Tescos nearby. We got there 3 hours early and there was a large queue already.
My son said he saw me - but there again, he doesn't blink much

Leroy (Satchel) Paige (1906-1982)
Mickey Mouse's girlfriend, Minnie, made her film debut, along with Mickey, in "Steamboat Willie" on November 18, 1928.
That date is recognized as her official birthday.
Just to say that if anyone is interested there's an application page now up on the BBC:
BBC - Tickets - BBC Tickets
I believe they are allocating by ballot.
Nicked from Minnie's site:
So it looks like V & F are definitely in"Due to circumstances outside our (LeRoc) control, the Vincent & Flavia Argentine Tango class has been postponed until last February 2008, due to their involvement with the new series and being called in by the BBC for the launch meeting, only announced on Friday 7th night. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience."
