    Andy! I'm honored!

But I'm a creature of the old forum that you mention - I don't really fit into this new one. I might be bold, but I'm far too grumpy. You need someone very entertaining for King! What about DJ?

Best post award went to Martin Harper, but you've got the rest of them right

Congrats to the winners of the Forum Awards -

    The regal DJ and Lory,
    Entertaining David Franklin,
    Mirthful Dreadful Scathe
.... and the ever helpful Ducasi

Can someone quote Martin Harper's winning post?

The "best post" category attracted nominations for lots of different posts, but Martin's name as the author appeared the most, so he really won the award for "best posts", rather than one in particular.

I wrote it already - what, wasn't it delivered by my Designated Acceptor? I dunno, you can't trust some people.

Don't worry though, I won't let the fame and glory go to my head.

your acceptance speech was indeed delivered by the lovely Lory

it went something like "Good grief" it seemed very appropriate, but like Mezzo, I was drunk on the euphoria of it all and can't remember exactly

    Hmmm:
    • "I am the king of the world!"
    • "You like me, you really like me!"
    • "I'd like to thank everyone I worked with.... They were really fabulous. It was really a great experience for me. My makeup man, who had a lot to work with. My hairdresser. My assistant . . ."
    • "Gee, this isn't like I imagined it would be in the bathtub."
    • "Tonight I am asking for your help. I call upon you to draw from the depths of your being to prove that we are a human race. To prove that our love outweighs our need to hate. That our compassion is more compelling than our need to blame. That our sensitivity to those in need is stronger than our greed. . . . Thank you and God bless."
    • "I think awards in this country at this time are inappropriate to be received or given until the condition of the American Indian is drastically altered. If we are not our brother's keeper, at least let us not be his executioner."
    • "In the great wealth, the great firmament of your nation's generosities this particular choice may perhaps be found by future generations as a trifle eccentric, but the mere fact of it . . . the prodigal, pure, human kindness of it . . . must be seen as a beautiful star in that firmament which shines upon me at this moment, dazzling me a little, but filling me with warmth of the extraordinary elation, the euphoria that happens to so many of us at the first breath of the majestic glow of a new tomorrow."
