    Dancing in Paris?

OK ,hi y'all , long time no post!
My job suddenly got serious and I had(HAVE!) to do real work during the day for a change...............

So,does anyone know of any venue in Paris where we could dance, in Mid November?
(my 50 th birthday treat )
I've found a couple of Lindy websites, but would prefer something more mainstream if poss- but definitely NOT west coast!(those who know me know my feelings about that particular form)
Are there regular clubs like we have here or do I just find a nightclub and hope for the best?
A big band gig would be good and I'm sure there must be 'stuff like that there' (-geddit- Bette Midler title?) - it's just that my francaise is a bit rusty and I'm hoping for un peu help in that departement
    many thanks in advance
    LL

    Try this site for starters:

    http://danse-a-2.com

There is an English Language button on the left hand side.

Unfortunately I didn't get to do any dancing when I was in Paris earlier this year due to illness. However I would be interested in hearing about any venues you might come across.

There have been previous threads on this subject. I have no clue how to insert a link to the most recent one, but do a search for "dancing Paris" and you should find previous recommendations:-)

    Enjoy!

    Re: Dancing in Paris?

Val and I have danced at Club Zed a little while ago and can really recommend it. It's full of interesting characters and like a lot of dance clubs in Paris, is a tiny subterranean venue. The music is generally quite fast and certainly the night we went there were a lot of good dancers around - the majority of whom were very friendly. However, you need to prepare yourself for the fact that it does get busy and ultimately you'll end up with a tiny slot about 2 foot wide by 6 foot long. Methinks you and Sue may have to curb your natural enthusiasm and expansive dance style..
